. Well. Yes. Then again, they gave Madonna one. It's not that he couldn't sign one, but since he's not Jay Z, a 360 deal would be exploitive and contradictory for a guy making moves to own his own masters, and act like an independent artist. . The current mood amongst some "urban radio" music acts is to bitch about the 360 offers that were supposed to be an alternative business model. All they did was dip into their pockets from more direections, and shut out all but 5 annointed songs at a time from radio airplay. A lot of those people are has beens or fluke successes that benefited from payolla to begin with, but anyway, I think this is what Prince is talking about, only he hasn't been in the trenches for so long, he's confused. You can google NY radio station "Hot 97, Ebro, and Chuck D" to learn more about some current controversy and the kind of thing I'm guessing Prince is picking up on. | |

He doesn't need any more money so why not just write great material for the artistic worth of it and fuck what it does on the charts or if it flips the skirts of sugar obsessed orgers.
