So was this a solo pop song or 3EG, doesn't seem to conform to 1 word song titles that 3EG have, unless it'll be squashed into 1 like FALLINLOVE2NITE

Let the fro go.

Stop hating on the 'fro.

people are hating on his hair, unbelievable. something more to worry about i guess. lol

I love the afro personaly, but if i didn't it wouldn't bother me at all.

Don't think he looks really old with the hair, and i also don't think he looks unhealthy.

He looks natural with it! so really real with his real hair. what he used to do with his hair is not good for his hair at all, just saying.

ANYWAYS/

Yes, setlists are bit standard, guess it has a reason, i don't know, i wasn't there. i only heard people being happy to be there, so i guess it was great. 3 shows is bit too much though. one show from 2,5 hours would be enough i guess.

It's just a hairstyle....but it makes him look so old because it's not the neat do that's in all the promotional picture. It looks so patchy an uneven...the fact he keeps tugging at the but over his left ear is weird too...like he's uncomfortable with it
P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent

do u know any grown black men with a full dark afro?

it's not real (but fans just can't admit it)

but it is more practical because he can just throw it on ten or fifteen minutes before a gig - so he won't have to PAY a hairstylist

and with make-up he probably has Ida help him with that

but I love the new video clip because it just proves that 3rdeyegirl can play funk!!

Yes, how amazing it is to hear Purple Rain and a sampler set. <snore> The rest of it -- intimate venue and three shows in one night -- are cheap attention grabbing ploys, to show what a special snowflake he is. Musical value? ZERO.

.

Now go listen to the 1988 Trojan Horse aftershow, which took place mere hours after a full Lovesexy show (i.e. one where the band didn't just perform an astonishingly varied setlist, but also danced on a huge stage): listen how the IMPROVISE on the spot, playing fresh, new music. It's so good that it means the recording from that night still is a highlight.

.

These three gigs? Bleh. Throwaways.

Oh my god. Oh my god! After all these years youre still on the same rant? Your record got stuck and you never bothered to fix it.

How sad.

I don't want to be negative, but in a way i agree with Bart. I went to Prince in Antwerp this week and thought he was great that night : played allmost 3 hours, and was in a very good mood. In other words, he gave it all that night

Now....back to the shows yesterday ... it is not possible to give yourself 100 % in 3 shows in 5 hours... so in that way i agree with Bart. It seems to be an easy way to get some extra money for the band.

I feel the same about the Paris concerts this week...why 2 shows in one night ?? The shows in Paris cannot be as good as he played Antwerp last week, as he cannot perform 2 100 % shows....

Nevertheless..... to all you people who are going to Paris, Berlin of Vienna : have fun and enjoy !

U got to be kidding me....lol

Man...fuck this place....

Horatio

I saw lots of Prince concerts from the 80s (I think the first was in 1982 during the 1999 tour in Michigan)...so I think I have a good experience about it (not only by the records).

I really don't understand some of the comments on this forum (generally coming from people who didn't see the show...only the setlist). This concert was great...nothing else to say (except you should be there).

Cheers.

Yes he did. He apparently teased to do so in the first or second show (as Simonart wrote in his review), and he actually did it in the third show. I couldn't believe my eyes.

This shows you how weak 3EG are: these three intimate "aftershows" are basically excerpts from a regular show.

.

And yet the famz will still defend this, even though they claim that P plays the hits "because otherwise the big halls won't fill, but the aftershows will contain the deep cuts". Oops, didn't count on the band still sucking the big one after 18+ months.

You still don't get it, do u Bart....

Turn down that obsession.......

These shows were never advertised as "aftershow". Just regular shows, with "regular" music.

Exactly not advertised as an aftershow. I think Prince fans are some of the most spolit people ever. Take a seat back folks and relax. Who the heck does this these days? Tell me one artist? He has to make a living too and i would happily go and see him for a snippet of that show.

Also unrelated but i really think this is his unofficial purple rain anniversary shows and i think he looks humble at the end.

And err yeah get rid of that fro ffs! He looks so good without it and err hello biceps eek lol

clearly you weren't there then Fartman or whatever name u go by

I've been lucky enough to see Prince live in the Uk or Canada every tour since Lovesexy, i can honestly say when I'm in my 90s i will still be listening to Prince and it will be the 3rdeyegirl gigs i will be reminiscing about. My family may ask "Still after all this time?" and i will reply, "Always." the gigs have been that good.

I was in front of the stage in Amsterdam. Right side of the fro had a loose strand of hair. And the back of the fro had a square in it. I think he's got some kind of hatch back there, an access panel to a towel or something funky of any kind. Really interesting stuff smile

In the second show he 'stagedived' back first into the crowd on the left side. He was onstage in seconds, and pretended to jump headfirst into the crowd, but it was only pretending.

During the second show Prince did the same on the right side, falling backwards into the crowd. But this time the folks were a lot less prepared, he almost fell down to the ground. But in the end they caught him before the concrete did, end he ran off without the shananigans he tried after his first stagedive.

So, anybody want to fixthesetlistup? Things I think Princevault's got wrong:

Show 2:

Play that funky music after Live it up

U got the look was NOT played

Show 3:

I Would Die 4 U was only a snippet before something else, I think SOTT

Yeah, i was at the 2.Show and it was incredible. He did the stagedive and i couldnĀ“t believe my eyes. He was in such a good mood, the sound was perfect. Of course it was a short show but i think nobody was disappointed because the atmosphere was unique.

Here is the correct Setlist :

FunkNRoll
Controversy
1999
Little Red Corvette
Nothing Compares 2 U
Let's Go Crazy
Take Me With U
Raspberry Beret
Cool
Live it up
Play that funky music
Kiss

After the last 3. show i was waiting at the backdoor and saw him jumping in his Mercedes S-class and said : Thank u Prince, you are the best. He looked at me and nodded his head. It was a great moment. He was only 1 meter away from me.

Peace and b wild
