Who's that girl? The girl who is singing with Prince this tour is phenomenal....I'm talking the Paisley Park re work, I love it.
I've asked a few Prince friends and they all disageree with me, they think she's too shouty.
Am I the only one who think shes great?

It was Marissa Jack, a singer who Warner bros have had in development for a few years

I thought she was a waste of space, like Larry's wife on stage with her towel. .

I thought she was fine; chances are that if she stays around she is going to be the subject or many, many unpleasant threads though...

You may be in a minority on here, but people on Twitter and Facebook seem to like her also.

I liked her - she sang and she danced which, presumably, is what was on her job description for the gigs. I don't think the fact she had the audacity to sing a Prince song and not be Prince is really her fault or even an issue. I thought she was great on Monday...the bits when she wasn't performing saw her sat on that sofa jigging away and smiling, waving to people who noticed her - real ally enjoyed her input. I can be quite negative at times - heaven knows I've moaned about the KOKO gig enough and been critical of whst I see to be lacklustre output over recent years....but there's a whole breed of Prince 'fans' on here I'm spotting recently that are one step away from a restraining order ...all this kerfuful over the Cafe de Paris gig, Marcus playing the cowbell and now a Marissa Jack....chill out folks or you'll bust a vein P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent

Priince has a record of taking averagely talented women under his wing. They must be giving him a bit more than a simple hand onstage I got two sides... and they're both friends.

There you go...somebody finally got it Although,by default, if I knew she was staring at me then I must have been staring at her....so she's probably thinking "look at me again and I'll set security on you" [Edited 5/23/14 6:29am] P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent

Having experienced her upclose,I like her,she is very friendly and a great positive energy onstage and she accepted a lot of hugs and kisses from the fans onstage in Glasgow.I'm not keen on her singing though.

I don't want to hear one of Princes songs sang by someone else. I paid to see Prince.

I thought she was mildly embarassing. "My God it's full of Stars"

As I said in the other thread....Bria, Tamar, Andy, Marissa Jack...new flavor of the month, will be replaced by somebody younger and hotter within 18 months or less...if she even makes it as far as the other 3 examples..

Her mic was very low in the mix at Leeds. Could barely hear her.

I have no idea why my comment got snipped? Im not allowed to think this chick looks a little rough? Jeez. Forgive me for thinking Prince had higher standards. I give credit where its due, but to me, she looks a little bummy. Sheesh. Andy Allo looked better on stage with him. I questioned whats wrong with Prince because he seems bored and uninspired. Still interested to hear the Plectrum Electrum album even in spite of his seeming lack of inspiration.

I don't agree with your opinion of Marissa but DO agree that snipping your comment (and my reply) is outrageous! What's the deal luv4u?

She seems to be Prince's equivalent of Bez, but without the musical ability.

They maybe averagely talented, but they are usually very good looking, I doubt they are there for their musical talents
I was in Block 115 for both Manchester gigs, so I had a really good view across the stage to the 'sofa' where she was sat down, the first night she was hardly involved, she did some backing on U got the look and sang (hollered) Paisley Park, the rest of the time she sat on the sofa with the silver cane doing push ups in the air. The second night Prince was beckoning her allot more to come out and dance etc, it felt like the first night she was getting the vibe and wasn't really sure when she should/could get involved.
I get the feeling she was parachuted onto the tour quite late on, it didn't feel like she was rehearsed and comfortable with what she should be doing, maybe it was a knock-on from the re-signing to Warners that they wanted her on the tour?
The keyboard player with the big hair added to the sound I thought, particularly with an arena gig where the sound needed abit more musical filling compared to the hit n run part 1 smaller Rock gigs.

I preferred her Maraca's

Yea, I said she looked like she didnt shower. Maybe that's her hippie style and Prince likes it.

So you're saying you wouldn't of rather heard P sing Paisely Park? If you would have rather have heard P sing it, then surely you must agree that her presence brought absolutely nothing to the show, and if anything detracted from it? I got two sides... and they're both friends.

so there was a picture taken of her at a bad angle, it happens to everyone, funny how many ppl on this board have so much to say about another persons looks yet are some of the most horrid odd looking folks themselves who wouldnt dare post a photo of themselves on this board. Much of the non music/performance related feedback is unfair. Some of you are so lame.
