I have just called The Hydro.

People with standing tickets have a door on their ticket.

The door is not the same for all standing tickets.

You will need to use the door on the ticket.

1- we all get into the building through the main entrance.

2- inside, we need to locate the correct door and wait there.

They told me, they wouldn't insist if you're in a group of friends with different doors.

Ah great, nice to hear.

There might be more than entrance to reach the doors. You never know. These people at the call centre don't have a clue. They can't even tell you where the doors are inside.

Really. They don't seem to know the place they are talking about.

I tried to call anyway, but it doesn't seem we are getting anywhere.

one says to me that the door is important.

Another says it's ok if you are with friends.

They don't have a clue on the phone line. I am telling you.

I called them today and was told to ask a steward when I get to the venue.

I'm getting quite stressed about this now! I am the only one of the friends I'm going with that has a different door entrance - so they will all be together and I will be on my own. Not at all happy. I'm particularly worrioed about how we're all going to find each other at the end - we HAVE to get the last train back to Stirling - don't fancy getting stranded in GLasgow on my own if I don't find them in time!

Simple. Get in. Arrange to meet on the left front corner of soundboard. Then find standing spot. Stick together. Arrange to meet at right back of soundboard area at the end. Makes sure phones fully charged.

That doesn't help much if you want to get to the front with your mates, q from 4, then get split up once you get inside venue. I think they'll be flexible with specific door tickets though.

According to a friend's daughter, who regularly goes to concerts at the Hydro, they are not strict about the door entrance on your ticket for the standing area and mostly don't even check it. She has never had a problem. what time are folks planning to arrive tomorrow?

next time you have a problem and want help, try putting in all the criteria you want to meet. regardless of what you say, what i told you can still help you in a number of ways. try thinking positively about the situation instead of negatively. having to travel from glasgow to stirling on your own is hardly a big issue. there are plenty of trains and buses going between both

the idea of arranging to meet your friends in one single pre arranged spot at the end is very simple and what most people do

I have a contact at the venue who deals with the hire side as I booked it out a couple of months back,

.

I have just emailed her to ask about the standing entrances for you so will let you know once she comes back to me/if she does.

Response was,

.

"Really people should go via the door advised due to Crowd control etc... If they explain to the steward on the door that they are together and dont want to split up he may still say that they need to go via the door on the ticket but they may let them stick together.

Next time you write a rather rude post check first who's asking? I'm not the Stirling guy. Just someone commenting on the splitting from your mates issue. Chill out. Get some sleep.

if anyone needs to chill out it's you. i'm as chill as can be. my post isn't rude. if you think it's rude then that's the way you interpret a positive and helpful post. if my post wasn't aimed in you in the first place there was no need for you to reply and moan about it to warrant a further reply

some peope are experienced in these things and are trying to help others out. moaning about the help you are given isn't going to encourage people to want to help you again

Is there any need to be so rude about it? I AM concerned about the train, the "plenty" trains you mention stop running at 11.30pm - unless I leave early that really does not give me loads of time! I'm not being negative - just trying to sort out the practicalities of getting home!

i didn't say or suggest it was you that replied though, did i? between someone else jumping in to reply to answers not aimed at them and you doing the same, plus not being able to quote properly, the thread just looks a mess

there are plenty of trains and buses, you can even get a taxi as it's not that far. if you miss the last train or bus there are early buses and trains in the morning

just plan yourself with your mates so you all have charged up phones and arrange to meet at a certain point in or outside the venue to leave together and if you aren't there by that time you leave the venue and head to the station and meet at a pre arranged point at the station. it's really that simple. if you miss the last train, there is usually a later bus. if you miss that then you have options such as taxi, uber or get the first bus or train in the morning and just wait at the station or kill some time at late night cafes etc

the last train is at 23.48pm by the looks of things and the first bus is 4am so if you miss the last train you only have 4 hours till the first bus back. or you can get a taxi for £54, which is pretty cheap if split between 3 or 4 people

http://www.glasgowtaxis.co.uk/price-promise-menu.html

http://www.travelinescotland.com/welcome.do

just spent a bit of time googling times and journeys and plan in advance. if you are really concerned about getting the last train and nothing else will do, then just make sure you leave the venue in appropriate time to get there

I have just received an e-mail from the Hydro. Here is what it says:

The door on the ticket relates to where you will enter the arena bowl, however, this is subject to change on the day of the event based on any organiser requests.

Great!

they may as well have said they don't have a clue and they will figure something out on the day. fortunately the fans are good at arranging themselves in an orderly manner in the UK so hopefully scotland will make a good example by being the best line. there is a lot to beat as birmingham did it really well and the same with kokos

I'm outside the hydro right now (not queuing) and it's a monster of a place! Looks superb! Also see 2 tour buses but I'm pretty sure they aren't for Prince. Beautiful day in Glasgow!

The last train to Stirling leaves Queen street station leaves at 23:48 pm.

and, trains from the scottish exhibition centre to glasgow central leave at 23:13 and 23:23.

Or, get a taxi to Glasgow Queen street and take the 23:48 train to Stirling.

I've been to the Hydro twice now and had different experiences. At Depeche Mode they made all the standing ticket holders go through the one standing entrance, regardless of what your ticket said. We were there last night and they made you go through the standing entrance stated on your ticket. Think it just depends on the night.
