In the Netherlands the dutch Astronaut Wubbo Ockels has passed away.

Yesterday I learned he loved to hear Purple Rain while watching the Earth from the shuttle.

Always nice to hear such references...

Prince... if you can squeek in a shoutout to Wubbo coming sunday, much appreciated wink

Really?!

I didn't know that.

I loved Wubbo Ockels. He was an amazing man with an amazing view on life. Not just from out of space, but also about how he decided to handle his cancer.

And his 'last' message to the people, was so beautiful.

The fact that he listened to Purple Rain while watching the earth from outer space, makes it all even more special.

How cool is that?!

Surely, Prince would apreciate it that his song is played in space by a great Dutch astronaut!

I did not manage to get Golden Circle. So, it's going to be standing in the cue for a couple of hours. I don't like that at all. If I could have, I would have bought the Golden Circle tickets.

No shit... I guess you're the only one. wink

I couldn't get GC. So I got seating. No point in queing when you can can't get to the front. I will get there 10 minutes before 8 and get a good spot right on the side.

The one thing worrying me though is, I got another e-mail today, with them pointing out that no cameras are allowed. Since I will be sightseeing with a camera all day and don't plan to go back to the hotel before the concert I wonder if they will make a fuss.

There is a wardrobe (your own risk) and lockers (2 Eur).

Allthough if you come in late, the lockers probably are taken.

Well. That's the fickle point about GC tickets. If you want to be at the very front, you still have to queu up, like everyone else... that's why I think it's just a scheme to make even more money.

Hmm. Lockers at Ziggo? Really? Interesting. Though I plan to come in late. Hmm, I really wonder if the message regarding cameras is a standard thing they print, but don't really bother or if they make an extra fuss, because of Prince being anal about cameras.

Still don't know what to wear.

Haven't found a good purple dress that I can wear all day in line, in the burning sun and then can go inside to see the show.

Feel a bit exhausted already, but I should not whine. I don't want to stand in the back, so I should make an effort.

I got a great purple dress from a friend. And got some purple make-up and bijoux.

Love the dress code, looking forward to see what outfits people will come up with.

Is there anybody going early in order to get in front?

Because of the Golden Circle, and the fact that I have standing tickets, I wonder if it's any use to come early and cue up.

Because I will be half-way the stadium anyways, and over there, I will not see anything happening on the stage.

So, why waist a whole day standing in the burning sun, whilst, at best, I will be too far from the stage to see anything?

I should just let go of the expectation to be able to see anything, and accept that I got a very expensive ticket that allows me to get the taste of the atmosphere.

If I prepare myself to not be able to see the girls & P, I won't be dissapointed.

What do you guys think? What are you going to do?

At hindsight, I should have bought tickets that are placed.

Yes, exactly my thoughts.

We'll just have to make our own party in the back. Let's just all dance and have fun.

No need to even try to see a glimpse of the band.

It will be fun to have a great party in the back with everybody dressed up in purple!! headbang

The only thing I'm afraid of, are people who talk to eachother and stand still during the concert. Oftentimes, that is what happens in the back. And I really hate it, when I try to focus on a concert, whilst getting distracted by all these conversations around me.

Maybe they should make a special area for these folks.

Outside the arena, near a bar, with a big screen that streams the concert. Those folks can have their chats, and the peeps who want to listen to the music and not to their neighbours conversations, can have a good time too.

Trains going south out of Amsterdam Central stop at 23:37 to where I need to go and restart after 02:00 ,anyone travelling south with a spare seat after the concert and any after party he may be swinging by? Even metro seems to stop not long after concert due to end,not even allowing for extra encores. Would be glad if anyone has solutions as have to get back to the Eindhoven area for family wake up for school and work time! Eeeeeek Enjoy the ride tonight folks, hope to see lots of us there biggrin

Why queue for GC when you're already in GC? Don't get it, maybe I'm getting too old for this shit hahaha. I think being there around 15:00 will be early enough. Last time in the Gelredome I was in queue at 17:30 or so and still was in front of the stage smile

Yes, there are separate rows for GC and GA tickets. The reason to come early is to be in the front row, stage center of course. And to have a great time with the other fans.
