These gigs are FAR from sell outs. The secondary market is awash with below cost spares and the good blocks are now coming up for sale.

Once most or all of the tickets are sold the concert is considered a sell out. What happens on the secondary market is of no relevance.

I agree, but there are huge blocks of seats still available at the biggest two venues. The secondary market price (which is about half the ticket price) reflects how any tickets remain unsold at the venues.

There has to be a fairer way, those touting twats have grabbed a shed load of tix & can't shit them in such a short time frame. On a side note I was gobsmacked to see so many Katy Perry tix still kickin' around..she's on radio constantly, always on TV, is putting on a 'big show' production yet tix still available at most dates.

I don't think it's any achievement to sell out a couple of gigs if your Prince. Not because he's great but because, after 40 odd years, your bound to have enough fans who will want to see you for the first time in 7 years and who knows when/if the next time will be...

That's a contradiction right there - he's not great, yet after almost 40 years he has enough fans to sell out venues. ???

He still has lots of people who want to see him after all these years = he's great (as a performer/artist)

I'm contemplating picking up a Katy Perry ticket for this week. Her show looks completely over the top and you can pick up "Reflection Selection" tickets (In the pit in the middle of the stage) for less than a regular seat on the secondary market.

The wider problem is not touts, its the actual ticket agencies stitching the market up. Just look how you couldn't buy the best seats, yet those blocks have been on offer through the secondary market all the way through. And note that they rarely tell you the row.

The Likes of Ticketmaster are actively restricting the sales to control sales on both sides of the fence. It should be illegal.
