Oh and when he have his guitar to that kid with 'special needs' I almost cried.

Got to get ready for work but will update more inc the guy who was playing it cool
In the queue until Prince came on,...

What happened with the kid and the gutair? Can you elaborate a bit? Thanks

He had a whole group of people up to dance including some less able people, kids and a child with 'special needs' (horrible to pigeon hole - sorry) and, at the end of the song he handed his guitar to this kid who stood there amazed and absolutely chuffed to bit - a lovely lovely moment as was Marissa Jack dancing with those 3 little girls like they were the stars

I'm a bit worried about the set list. I'm going to see him in Antwerp next week and the show is starting to look like the old setlists again from 2010.

I wanted to see him again for the cool guitar stuff (endorphinmachine, i like it there, chaos and disorder).

sometimes...i..really...really.....want to.....need to......SLAP SOME FANS!

Please do not go to the gig, give your ticket away to someone else!

I understand where you come from. However, Prince seems to thrive on some challenge and he has some autopilot aspects in his show. And yes....he cultivated that so much that you still will have a ball.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. After reading about all your frustrations from February and the seeing how worried you were when Laura Mvula was 'co-headlining' I was genuinely hoping you weren't going to be disappointed again. Seems you weren't biggrin

Last night sounded amazing. Especially FIML and SISIA. Gutted I wasn't there but roll on Leeds smile

Yeah...I moan a lot don't I. with last night Feb was a lovely bonus - I can't remember the last time I left a Prince gig and the next day still had this exhilaration. - it was perfect. He played hits I hadn't heard in a long time live (LRC ETC), rarities like COOL, 17 Days and tracks I've never actually seen live like Hot Thing, Forever in my life. Everybody says it straight after a gig but I think that's my fav so far of all I've been too.

Only a minor scuffle and a pre-gig argument about people sneaking to the front

Oh and some sloppy, sloppy, disgraceful calendar work by Prince....fancy saying he was going old Skool to 1982 with She's Always In My Hair - I almost walked out there and the. smile

Well, he recorded She's always in my hair in 83, so there is good chance he wrote it in 82

Good solid show.

He burned the biggies a bit early for the casuals.

Highlights:

Full band version of Snows in April

Excellent Extended version of Sign o the times

Best rendition of nothing compares i've heard in years
Best rendition I've heard of Purple Rain in years. All the verses, 10 min+.

He was feeling this one a lot more than Thurs.

I think that is the best version I have ever heard of Nothing Compares, the other times I have seen him play it live was always duets, which I liked but this tonight was incredible.

I think I agree. He banged it out beautifully throughout the Nude tour, but I think this version had the edge. I found it a real wake up considering I've heard it live so many times before

That us a very good question, we've all had our doubts about whether it will actually come, I think it will, I hope soon, only 1 person on earth knows, and he sings on it smile

Basking in the joy of last night. 8 rows from the front. Saw every quirky glance, flirt, smile, glare - such a sense of fun. He was loving it. Fascinating setlist and so great that he came back on and broke the curfew like he knew what everyone's concerns were over the support act. Meant some great people - sorry I didn't meet you Brumguy and would like to have met Ppenguin and other Orgers but hey.

Oh and how freakin hot did Marissa Jack look in that dress!!!? eek

Hardened fan of 40+ concerts sat next to me in Block 16 last night but hadn't been since '98 - said he's back in the fold now though!

I stood on Thursday about 10 people from the front - definitely felt more involved but sitting yesterday was certainly more relaxed and civilised - especially with these ageing legs!

no negative comment by me, I know the concerts were superb and I'm still a huge fan, I really like the new stuff. I was very excited by the change in setlist since the last time I saw him in 2010, that's all. So I hope it stays that way, because I really want to hear endorpin and I like it there. never heard him perform that live before. that's all. no criticism.

Simply SUBLIME!

.

I was 3rd (2nd and a half at a squeeze) from the front betwixt mic and piano (#54 - clad head to toe in purple!) - and, boy, was he having FUN last nite! It rivalled Academy 2 in sheer EXHILARATION .. we blew the doors of that curfew right off!

.

As mentioned up above: the shadow-boxing - the look of horror as he clawed the keyboard - the finale exit .. when he shot off in petrified fear of the mic ... GENIUS!

.

He also looked pleased as punch to give that kid his guitar .. before mocking some security chap for ushering everyone off ... such FUN!

.

He also clocked me twice in the eyes during separate guitar n bass licks - which was quite a fantastic moment!

.

I think a lot of one's enjoyment of gigs comes from where you want to BE - queuing for multiple hours to be at the front is its own reward - you put them in .. then you can pull out a wondrous experience!

.

Sound was pretty decent too - better than last Thursday - when I was by the sound desk (and a little worse for wear, to be honest .. a-hem!) .. hence my point on 'where you are' at gigs being a cruncher .. from now on I will ONLY ever be at the front .. that's where the party is AT cool

Very well said. No pain - no gain.

Security guy mock was very funny. Also seemed to be making lyrics up to make the 3EG girls laugh. Ida seems incredulous when he flirts with her. Donna seems a bit out of place in that way sometimes though.

Up there with Feb 22nd for sure.

Finally home from Birmingham, apart from a couple of naps on coaches I've been up for 33 hours but it was so worth it! That was just the most incredible gig, highlight for me was Sometimes it snows in April (which made me cry), but there were just so many great bits, Princes crazy claw hand being one! Met some lovely people too, but now I need a shower and my bed, in that order!

Last show I witnessed was final night o2 aftershow....had to be something special to top that and in my eyes the atmosphere ..the mood prince was in topped that...the way he left the stage, the look on his face will stay with me for a long time smile of course being front row against the bar takes the experience to a whole new level... would have been perfect if he had played 'something in the water'....the track of the tour.

Wow!! Just home from a marathon of travelling, but it was sooooo worth it!! Brilliant show, had a great view close to the stage on the left side, met some fun lovely people, we had such a great time.. He is amazing. First time seeing 3rdeyegirl, they are fantastic. From where I was, great audience, everyone dancing, singing - really getting into it. Definitely one of the best Prince concerts Ive seen. Would LOVE to go to Leeds or Glasgow...

I enjoyed it yesterday. Really really good. Got to see one of my favourite artists on my first concert (second if you include JP Cooper) ... What can I say. I enjoyed it so much that I missed my last train to back to London. Thankfully I still had some friends from my old days at university up there to crash at.

I was hoping they'd play "something in the water", "holy river" and "I would die for you".... I got one out of the three!

I was so excited about it that I was singing all the way to the arena and even in my way out - lol I hope no one here heard a black guy singing lol

O.k one little gripe....spend all day queuing for a place on the bar front row...get all comfortable...then get harrased by the short people...yes ladies talking about you lol .... insisting that I make space...or crouch when concert starts. Its not even that they ask nicely its almost like I owe to them for being tall. Usually a gentleman but damn its Prince here, I aint compromising for anyone. So a message to the shorties get your ass queuing early instead of moaning and cryign when u dont get the view you want....it's worth it I assure u. Oh and if it's not moaning it's flirting to get your ass in front....much preferred I guess....still aint gonna work smile

Chasingamy - a rare and brief post but says all it has to. Glad u had a good time, and really sounds like the security / queuing situation put the MEN completely in the shade (they were nothing short of a disgrace). Go to Leeds! Go to Leeds! Princey is calling u…

I liked the guy with the beard at the front who was playing it cool all day, giving the air of famous, flashing his watch, talking about shooting tv programmes (maybe he was famous but nobody was sure who he thought he was) and making pals with the security - a very cool customer...

Until Prince came close and then he lost it totally and started hollering "I love you Prince, I love you do much!!!" and appeared to be on the verge if tears

I'm glad he enjoyed it
