3rdeyegirl just tweeted this. However Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow are now apparently in London.

EDIT: Looks like the tweet has been deleted.

[Edited 4/30/14 7:57am]

The amount of typos in the poster are unreal, it cannot be an official one. 22th, 23th and Holland, Leeds and Glasgow etc all in London. Bloody awful job.

This tour also suggests to me Plectrum Electrum is still on and maybe to be released around the time of this or the Essence Festival as the venues are bigger, its a propert tour.

Confused about the poster. With the tickets being priced differently, does that mean the symbol stage is coming back?

Why are so many of you saying 3EG won't sell out large arenas etc. . . I am not being funny but I have NEVER gone to a Prince gig to see any particular band member of the NPG or anything. It has always been about Prince. Heck he could be on there with The Saturdays (Please don't though) and I would go! Do you think anyone really cares who he is with? It isn't like he has ever had an absolute rubbish band. We all have our opinions on who is better etc but we cannot deny he has always had talented people with him. cool

isn't the MEN 21,000 capacity? Or are there smaller halls within? Kinda suggests NPG and 3rdEye? And 16th May! Isn't that the anniversary of the release of When Doves Cry - thought he'd be in the US for that? Shit, gonna have to draft a request to go from the wife! Is it Eventim that do tickets for the MEN? Fuckadoodle doo - moving stuff with my dad on Friday so will try and be at a comp at midday. Hopefully see some of you orgers I met at the February gigs...

.

They can make it smaller, for example if they just wanted to sell half of the arena, they will Drape off a section and set up stage further in from the end where they usually put the stage, is 21k for things in the centre but if you account for staging taking out one whole end section it reduces the capacity by quite a bit.

Its 1 night he's playing, so I think it will be in the round, will suit his symbol stage.

Surprised he's not doing London gigs? I think there will be more dates to come....

Tickets from £65 + booking fee, so gonna be pricey for the decent ground blocks near the stage, the MEN (phones4u) arena is pretty steep, so if from £65, they'll be seats in the gods .....

Hey Ecnirp, how's it going? U were queued and then behind on us on the 2nd night at Manc innit? Isn't MEN what was the Nynex - cos when I saw him there there were definitley less than 21k - so agree with fnksoul about it getting draped off - maybe some aftershows then if there's days in between and only an arena show. we're gonna need a fuckload of pens for writing numbers on hands tho.

So, out to buy the wife some flowers before breaking the news to her!

...just had a random thought, and I know, just cos Prince said it probbo makes it less reliable but at the end of the Manc gig he said they were off to release the album and then they'd be back...so, maybe that'll come out before the first UK date?

Hi Again, I was there both nights, in the pen queue first night/afternoon queuing, then got a late ticket for second night, so managed to sneak to near the front area second night

Yep, Nynex then MEN then phones4u, I saw U2 there, holds about 20,000 in the round, so lots of ink required !

it's 12,000 capacity though, plus he's playing elsewhere so you got a good chance of getting a ticket.

I'll c u at Glasgow. I'll b down the front with a prince t shirt on so u can spot me easily.

Nah, mais sérieusement, I'm definitely going to try and get tickets for the Birmingham show, seeing as how it's closest to my uni. The show is give days from my first exam, but I've never seen Prince before so I'll have to chance it. smile

I have a feeling the ticket companies with sell most of the tickets to their sister sites and sell them on for overinflated prices like they did with Kate Bush tickets. mad

I feel sick. I did get to see prince in feb at manchester.... AMAZING.

Love him to bits, must see him again

It's about the material he plays. The majority of "Prince fans" are the people who own the old classics. Those are the people who sell out an arena. They'll wanna hear Purple Rain, WDC, LRC, Kiss, Raspberry Beret, etc.

i.e. - the songs he doesn't do with 3rdEye.

Do we reckon it's going to be the symbol stage or a regular one? I'm not sure whether to gor for seated or standing tickets when it comes to arenas. Does the stage seem really high if you're standing near the front?

eh...i really dont understand what the problem is...here is his setlist from the last gig in manchester that i was at...and the band was brilliant...played some new stuff...was very rocky but the vast majority was his 80s stuff..casual prince fans will be more than happy with this setlist again..

I wait 19 years 4 my main man 2 return 2 Glasgow 2 funk us all & I can't be right up front going mad with my mates cuz I'm having baby no3! Even though I managed 3 shows in February, I'm much further on now & have 2 b sensible. Lol, when am I ever sensible when it comes 2 Prince? lol Anyways, can't complain though, at least I'll get to go & experience things from the paedestrian area! ha ha

Please let them have the big screens though cuz I don't wanna miss out seeing P's face. Unfortunately the SEC Hydro in Glasgow is not the greatest venue I've ever been 2. The stage has always been way 2 high & the acoustics arent great either. Even though the SECC is just a big shed as well, it has 10 times more atmosphere than the Hydro imo. Maybe I've just had bad experiences & hopefully 3rdeyegirl will set that cold, sparse place alight with their firey funk'n'roll!

But I'm totally chuffed 2 bits this day 2 hear Prince is finally coming back! biggrin

anybody know what the best way is to go about getting tix for Manc? From the box office or internet?

I mean im not sure if its going to be a full capacity gig or if they're going to split the arena in half so it depends if the gig is going to sell out or not i guess.

I can easily get to the box office at the m.e.n at around 2ish on Friday if getting them from the box office is the best bet

Ticketmasters seating plan is showing it as the full arena.
