Prince in Vegas

Nile Rodgers just posted on fb that he's going to be with Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL in Vegas soon. Anyone heard anything about this?

On a side note, met him last weekend. Such a gent.

Ummm, I dunno, I think he's quite happy to be back in the spotlight so he may be prone to blagging a bit.

When he was at the Brits accepting the award for Daft Punk, he just kept talking about how wonderful he was. Also did the same when asked about working with Daft Punk in the 'after party tv show', they actually cut him off.

Anyway Prince said he was coming back to London wink

I wish Prince was in Vegas (and playing some shows) NOW, since that's where I am at the moment!! lol

Nile deserves to get the love he is getting right now, he's been a hardworking producer and musician for over 35 years creating hits for himself and other super stars and getting sampled. He also has cancer, so for his fans, we want him to talk because we don't never know when he'll pass, like what happened to Bernard (Edwards). IF Nile will show up with Prince in vegas, I'd love to go but it's way 2 far away...

That really doesn't sound like Nile Rodgers. As I mentioned in my original post, I met him last weekend. He was humble, down-to-earth and pretty much one of the nicest persons I've ever had the pleasure to meet in an industry full of arseholes.

Just watched the acceptance speech. In summary, he said it was a team award, thanked Pharrell, Daft Punk and everyone involved, thanked Daft Punk for sticking with the "old guys" when everyone said it couldn't be done and finished by saying, "I guess we got lucky." How on earth does that translate as him talking about how wonderful he was?

Nile Rodgers has accomplished enough on his own and really doesn't have to brag about anything. Not sure how solid this Vegas thing is, but I'm sure there is some truth to it. And as for Prince saying he was coming back to London - I'm sure he will. One day. biggrin

How many people are gonna have their entry money still with them after qeueing in a casino for hours ???? i'd be hitting the tables while I wait hehehe

But better than the 8 hour wait I had at SBE and the Academy outside in the cold.

It's not hot at all here right now!! High temperature on Tuesday was only 67F/19C! cool Perfect time for Prince to come and help the Brooklyn Bowl get off to a great start! nod

On Nile, I didn't want to seem like I was slagging him off, he deserves respect for his massive career both as an artist and producer. He is very accomplished and I love what he does.

He is back in the spotlight, and it's great to see him. I just feel that he does come across as talking himself up, maybe it's just me?

On Vegas, if Prince goes back, I just hope it's not as cheesy as the ONA DVD...not Prince's finest hour.

Just noticed that the "Purple Reign" Prince tribute shows at Planet Hollywood in Vegas are cancelled for this Sunday (3/16) and Thursday (3/20).

Could be unrelated. Could be Prince doesnt want the competition...Could be they want to go see Prince and got a heads up on some Vegas shows:)

nah....they used to play when he lived in vegas

often on the same nights

doubt they would know something before anyone else but I do think that Vegas would make a lot of sense right now given the fact that he has 80 people in the band, etc.
