I only made 3 gigs and saw Unique at two of those and on the night lots of us queued at EB after Kirans "who would pay 70 quid" tweet. At that queue a guy had bought a pack of beer and was sharing with others and complete strangers went to the pub together.
If these people call themselves soldiers of the Prince Army I am in in favour of it.
One things for sure. I will miss the queuing experience as well as the gigs. Its rare for strangers to socialise like this with our busy lives. Same here...queued for 11 hours at the KOKO gig with a great group of people near the front, we spent the day chatting like old friends, food and drink was shared and, after our reward of a rather rushed 90 minute set,we agreed that the queue was actually one of the best bit of the day. It also restored my faith in people too as, when we were at the front,a scuffle broke out and one if the guys I had been queuing with defused it expertly and calmly by msking people laugh (or trying to as he desperately confessed he couldn't think of a joke) P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent | |

Hi, I understand exactly what you are meaning I was at the front of the disabled que on my own on crutches and I think I spoke to you....when those few started shouting against the disabled/VIP I personally felt quite intimidated...but I also think the venue didn't deal with the situation very well nobody seemed to know their bum from their elbow so to speak! some of the people where really struggling in that que and where given duff information regarding disabled access, I was just about managing on my sticks but one of those ladies from Newcastle seemed to be really struggling, mixed that in with some of the abuse from the minority it wasn't nice! I totally understand that those who had been waiting for 12+ hours may of been frustrated but given the option I would prefer to be able to que with everybody else and not have a disability! but I suppose unless you begin to suffer with something there is no understanding..... with regards to the prince army I think some of them got quite a big ego from there own sense of importance but generally it's been a good thing to spread the word on a unique 'tour' i'v personally enjoyed the experience and it doesn't matter if your been a fan for 30+ years of if you've only just begun to enjoy his music from this moment on, the younger fans will continue to spread the word on what an amazing artist he is. I've liked his music for 14+ years but it was my first opportunity to see him and it was off the scale compared to other live acts, if it wasn't for the #princearmy I would not of had the opportunity. Hope you had a good night and got your ticket issue sorted I could sense how worried/nervous u was about it. The venue had it more organised on Saturday night with regards to the disabled access, but maybe this was due to e-mails exchanged  | |

I was in the que re being disabled and I heard the comments. I drove down from Newcastle(hubby n pal but they don't drive)which nearly killed me but been a Prince fan for 30 years. Did the journey in 2002 but was disabled then. I didn't want to miss Prince as seen in perform in USA and even went to Minneapolis own his 50th Birthday. I do hope the peeps who & I agree have jumped on the bandwagon stay aboard. | |

Prince Army is a GOOD thing. The more popular Prince is the better for me. Never really wanted him to be a cult/niche act. 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything. | |

hi, nice to here from you. Yes i got in but it was a struggle, as with i lot of places that you go to now, the right hand doesnt seem to know what the left hand is doing!! You were very nice people, but i guess i was making the point that if this is the new breed of fans built by the power of social media i wouldnt want it! |

but don't tar everyone with the same brush when it's just a tiny percentage of the overall attendees acting like that. where are your comments about everyone else? you've just posted the negative without the positive. to be more accurate you should have said there were x hundred/thousand fans and almost everyone was really nice and acted really great, as thats far closer to the truth, from every line at every show
to be fair, most of the problems were a result of a lack of information being passed around staff, who in turn had no information to pass to people waiting to get in, and every nights show from start to end was organised differently by the front line staff
now if you attended koko's you would have seen the most chilled out line of fans waiting all day and all night, with no trouble at all, everyone just getting on fine. food and drink being passed around, no pushing and shoving, no shouting, no hassle at all. i've never seen such a chilled out line in my entire life. and that's cuz of fans treating other fans well, with a line self managed by fans who never had to call official security for help

Yeah I totally get that, those of us that heard what was said by some of the so called prince army was absolutely out of order and I personally wouldn't want to be associated with that, but it was a minority, if the boot was on the other foot so to speak I'm almost certain they would be saying the same as we are....disabled people are at a total disadvantage with regards to these tours but thankfully the law reflects that fact hence provisions put into place, although some what disorganised,as for the press/vip's that's to be expected. It was quite obvious the majority in that que where disabled and mr gobs all mighty made themselves look like fools, however I don't think the whole of the 'prince army' should be judged on those over inflated egos who obviously didn't put any thought process into what came out of their mouths....well I hope that's the case anyways... But don't let the minority shade you view of it there are good and bad in any situation and the sharing of information is what got me the tickets in the first place and that was down to the twitter princewatch and the org.... don't let one bad part spoil the much bigger picture of good parts It was Manchester Friday night and it was some of the people in the first 20 of the non-ticketed que, who were talking about being part of the prince army, however is was only a few of them, it was quite intimidating and down right disrespectful to be judged by somebody who thinks they have some sort of priority being at the front of a non ticket que, but it didn't get them anywhere other than making themselves look like utter egotistical fools, I did in fact hear another one of them defend us by stating our que was for the disabled.... But like you say after waiting so long emotions can run high, it's just a shame they diverted that lack of information and frustration at those that really didn't deserve it. Not every disability is physical either..people forget that or just don't think because it doesn't affect them. | |

Some of these comments are rather perplexing. I was in the queue from 10am on the Friday and the people I encountered were great. I don't recall any shouting and everyone I met was friendly and generous. As for the comment that the queue consisted of 'casual fans', it was my 10th time seeing Prince, after having seen him at the London Hippodrome and the Bataclan in Paris to name but a few. Admittedly, some of the people I met had never seen him live before but I didn't view that as a bad thing. Queuing for ten hours involves a certain level of dedication and I kind of envied them as I knew how mind-blowing seeing Prince for the first time is. My experience of the queue was nothing but positive (well, except from the cold and the balls-up with the 'second show'). That said, I'd love a return to the npgmc days! | |

One thing I would like to add: I have no idea why the disabled fans were waiting in a queue while we were allowed in. I even asked someone: 'Why are we being allowed in and they have to queue?'. Someone told me that they were alternating between the two queues. This I think was wrong as they should have been let in first, no matter how long we had queued for.Anyway, I'll shut up now! | |

There was a few idiots with comments that's all, casual fans, hardcore fans it doesn't matter to me, was also the first time I saw him live, the venue seemed somewhat disorganised but hey ho, it didn't for one min spoil my experience and believe me i'v experienced a lot worse.... I'm still on a huge high from it and I met some lovely people in the process, it's unfortunate that those minority have left a bad impression to some, I think overall the use of social media has been a huge success for this tour, like I said there is good and bad in all areas of life it's just a shame the bad can cloud the good. | |

Where ever you go or who ever you see your always going to get Idiots, its what happens, especially when its someone who everyone wants to go and see, Just have to try and not let it ruin your experience, I noticed one or two people, but the vast majority were really nice. | |

Its a real shame to hear that those right at the front were acting like that - I was a bit further back in the queue (number 90) and I have got to say that all those around me were wonderful folk - they made the day overall an unforgettable one. Really friendly, buying cakes and crisps and handing them around, it was almost like a festival atmosphere from days gone by. Total strangers we may have been at the start of the day but made some great friends! | |
