Hyde Park Summer 2014 - reported in UK papers. NO CONFIRMATION The Sun reported today that Prince "will play two shows in Hyde Park this summer".
Article then goes on to say he is "still in talks", but rumour says it is pretty much confirmed, and that he is being £8 million for it - taking all of teh tickets sales.
Went on to say this tops what the Stones earned last year for the same gig.
Sorry to paraphrase but I don't have the paper in front of me right now and tryign to remember the wording.
Also in the Metro here: http://metro.co.uk/2014/0...r-4299808/
[I have amended thread title as there is no confirmation - langebleu - moderator]

If this happens I hope that it's a special spectacular concert with all the trimmings. I was listening to cochella the other day and it really sounds like it was something special.. The reason he hasn't confirmed yet: Glastonbury!! "Still Crazy 4 Coco Rock" |

The Sun reported this here on 11 February:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/s...-gigs.html
and it was referred to in The Independent yesterday:
http://www.independent.co...45078.html
But no confirmnation of anything
The guy who does Kiran's PR/her mate, has posted the link to the Independent today, in the run up to prince coming to London, he was posting alot of prince videos and articles and wouldnt comment on speculation, just "liked" the posts, So my theory is there might be some truth is some of that Article

Wouldnt it be great if he got Sheila E and a couple of other Paisley Park artists to be supporting acts.
Now that would be one hell of a way to celebrate 30 years of Purple Rain |

Did you go to the SotT shows or Lovesxy? She was an awesome drummer! But then so is Michael B and John Blackwell. 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything. |

She's a fantastic drummer, but she wouldn't even have to be his drummer to make it a worthwhile appearance.. just the standard guest percussionist type appearance with performances of Glamorous Life and A Love Bizarre would be good enough. Michael B and John Blackwell would be fantastic too, though.
A celebration of all things Prince. His entire career, past, present and future. Sheila E, Wendy & Lisa, Eric Leeds.. with support and guest spots from Larry Graham (again ) Lianne La Havas.. Vintage Trouble? (He mentioned them in the MOJO interview. Fantastic band)
All on a beautiful summers eve in Hyde Park. Ah, how I can dream

You do have a point there, didn't see those shows live.. My first gig was in 92 when I was 10 years old... Particularly loved that era. [Edited 2/23/14 8:09am]"Still Crazy 4 Coco Rock" |

Glad you said it and not me! Lovesexy is still my favourite tour. Get some of those guys back together! Kat on stage for the SOTT and LS tours left an indelable memory!
Though I have to say Saturday in Manchester was up there in the top 5 for me!
EDit: Despite the long trip: Pick up daughter from SE London, Pick up son from Scarborough, Head to Manchester, queue for 3 hours, 3 hour gig, Drive back to Oxfordshire, Take Daughter back to London (Sunday!!!!) [Edited 2/24/14 3:46am] |

Yeah the Lovesexy tour was completely groundbreaking at the time. The stage set, storyline/theatre and song list were all simply perfect. It was amazing and the best live experience ever (well barring some special aftershows, oh and night 3 at Hammersmith in 2002 with soundcheck and aftershow at the marquee - hmmm so many).

It was a life changer, I was already a big fan but the chance to see him was random and with a friend from schools family. I bought the sexy mf cd single with money for my 11th birthday... I'm 32 now (I guess the same age he was then). Prince inspired me to make music which is what I do for a living now "Still Crazy 4 Coco Rock" |
