Could it be true? One for the West Country Crew... That would be a lovely thing to do. People would very much apreciate. UK Government agencies have been useless.

That would be amazing. Not sure where or how that would be planned.
He'll need to head west though really, although West London is more likely.
Prince at the Somerset Levels. He'll need a floating stage FFS. Get on the boat people!

Bristol has a few decent venues of the 'right' size for this tour..

..."Prince is planning to play iconic venues in and around London" last time I checked Bristol isn't in London, nor is Leeds, etc etc Homer Simpson: "I call the big one Bitey"!!

I actually reckon they are on about New Orleans after reading the other thread. Time to fold up the West country banner till next time. Makes more sense I suppose, Somerset is only underwater, not really on the same scale is it?

Prince - Prince Considering U.k. Flood Relief Gig
by WENN | 11 February 2014
Pop superstar Prince is considering staging a gig to help Britons caught up in the U.K. flood disaster. Around 1,000 homes have been evacuated after prolonged storms left large swathes of the country under water, and members of the army have been called in this week (beg10Feb14) to help rescue those left stranded. The Purple Rain hitmaker is currently in the country playing a series of live shows, and he is now considering putting on a special gig to raise money for residents who have lost everything in the floods. A post on the singer's Twitter.com page reads, "Now what about a flood disaster gig? We pay, Prince plays, money goes to victims."
will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I believe u are thinking about this in the wrong way....If such a charity show happens the public would not be expecting to pay just 10 pounds.....
Just saying..... | |

what is your problem? | |

So you think a venue wouldnt give him free Hire for a benifit gig? Really? TBH venues will jump at the chance to host him, plus last min venue hire costs next to nothing, if anything. (I know this because its what i do for a living)
"Give the guy a break" - It was an official tweet from his twitter, so why would he put that out to 1000's on social media if he wanted to be given a break.
And the reason for doing it in the UK is he is on a Promotion tour in london, what better promotion that a charity event? He's make all the papers/headlines and other artists might follow suit.
I also doubt he would charge £10 if its for charity, a venue holding 1000 or so £10k isnt a great deal, people would have no issue paying £20-70 for a good cause

Has this Tweet since been deleted? Or was it a Tweet from a fan TO the 3EG Twitter account? I ask, as I can't find it on their feed...

I saw the tweet elsewhere first, then I saw it on 3EG's twitter, not a RT, more like a copy and paste I thought at the time, but I def thought it wasn't their or P's idea, its been deleted now.

Yeah the Thekla would be good! But in reality Colston Hall would be a good venue.

luvsexy4all said: what happened to this ? It was just an idea - somebody on Twitter suggested it, 3rd EyeGirl twitter picked up on it and said 'what do people think about this'. General consensus was an overwhelming "yes we'd pay more for a charity gig" At that point I think they tuned out and just heard "We'd pay more..." And out came the cash box and up went the prices. P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent
