No now. Don't think Brixton is going to happen.

That's dissapointing - but perhaps "break" suggests they'll be back in less than seven years.

Was something said on stage last night then? I was really hoping they would stick to their earlier comment about working up to bigger venues...

on stage he was taking a break and going to release the album and come back later

one or two people heard things suggesting that was it for now

Damn, if that's the case, wish I'd headed down to Shepherd's Bush Empire when I saw that tickets were £10. Could have made it in time. But I consider myself lucky to catch the first Electric Ballroom show, so I'm happy enough.

Wish I'd made the journey to Madchester on Sat now. BUT ya know, P is always changing his mind, this is the nature of creative people. He has made plenty of statements even recently he has not stuck, so until he is on that plane, who knows?

Looks like thats it for now...but I think that big outdoor gigs in the summer are very likely..with the npg added to the mix..
Not as good as small indoor gigs but I will take what I can get..

If that is it, it looks like he went on a high...

Looks like the Madchester crew was really up for it, was a good crowd and P. Reacted accordingly (a la SBE)

An intimate gig in London with a tabloid celebrity guest list profile (lets be real, it was effectively that at Ronnies!) Seems a way to end the London leg of what was effectively a promotional tour.

For now anyway, I personally believe that this'll be it until Hyde Park.

February 2014, wow.

Woke at 5am to drive 40 miles to get a rail replacement coach from Taunton to Bristol. Now on train to Manchester. After SBE, Koko x2, Ronnie Scott's first show I thought that was enough but here I am. All excited again & feel like a 15 year old. Only P does this to me. This tour has been exciting, dramatic & frustrating in equal measure!! Also i've reconnected with purple friends old & new & we all feel energised again. Much love to Rosie, Julie, Alison & orgers Onlymatt & Kangafunk. Also was cool to spend a very long day with Unique in the queue for Ronnie Scott's where P was 6 feet from us!! I'll die a happy man now.

it's been emotional to say the least! love you BGL. And we converted a few newbies last night as well. All the pain of missing out was erased last night. EPIC VIBEZ

Mine is a tale of what was missed but it's definitely been a great time to be a Prince fan.

smile

Could have gone down for the first EB rehearsal but it was raining and there were no guarantees, then those that went got let in for free. I did go and queue for the first proper show which I didget to see. Queued nearly 7 hours and still didn't still missed the start, but at least I got in and was delighted it was only £10. Unfortuntately there was a hugely important deadline due at work and I needed to be functioning the next day, so I didn't queue for show 2, which was better.

neutral

Then there was SBE. Really didn't want to bother queueing again and when I heard it was £70 that really confirmed that it wasn't worth queueing. As it turned out, could have gone late and everyone got in for £10. Even knowing it was £10 I'm not sure I would have queued but would definitely have made more of an effort to get a baby sitter.

confused

Then there was the infmaous, who would go to a show tonight for £70 tweet. Hung around the office for a couple of hours before giving up and heading home.

mad

The next night there were whispers but after the previous night I couldn't be arsed with the games any more. 2 hours before the shows were announced I was 1.5 miles away, then at announcement I was about 70 mils away.

hrmph

And the there was Koko. Baby sitter was organised and the plan was to get there just after the first show was let in so that we'd get the second one and had the option for the third. I wasn't sure that there would be demand for a third and suspected the show would be great and as it turned out show 2 was the one to be at there. Sadly the baby sitter cancelled an hour before setting off.

mad

Then there was Ronnies Scott's. When I found out I could have taken the day off and been there within the first 50 people. But again I couldn't be arsed with the queueing, too old! If it was the summer I'd have been more tempted but not in the cold.

lol

Finally we have Manchester. Had tickets in the basket for Saturday but then thought about the cost of two tickets, petrol there and back and an hotel for the night. I turned to the wife and she asked if we were going. I said it'd cost over £300 all in all and last week we saw him for £10 each. We laughed and we ditched the tickets.

lol

Now he's done, but it's been fun and it turns out I'm way more of a fair weather fan now than even I had expected. There's not much I would have done differently in retrospect, except maybe gone to SBE near to show time. It's been an exciting time though and I've enjoyed reading everyone's reports and now I know how twitter works too!

Smileys have been inserted to break up the wall of text, I have no idea how to make paragrpaphs work here!

Nice thanks.

Works on a Mac with Safari too.

Why the hell doesn't pressing return on it's own work though?

I was seriously contemplating just hitting London for a couple of days and hoping to hear of a concert this week, being off work and probably the only chance I'd have of doing so. Living in Glasgow hasn't been fun this past month! lol

Ah well, at least that decision has been made for me. I suspect I'm going to miss this tour altogether, which is a horrible feeling.

So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

Didn't Prince say they were going back to America to launch the album? I'm not expecting Brixton, or anything, for a while.

From memory he said (+/- a little bit) "We're going to take a break to get the album out and then come back"

No mention of where the break was or how long. It was vague enough that some thought they might be getting the album out with the merch and come back on stage, esp as they then put some tracks on the turntable.

This is from memory and we were all buzzing by then!
