I take it you agree ? Lol Good I thought it was only me hoping and praying that no more details about Manchester are announced until the day, I'm already struggling between panic, dread and utter excitement. As it is I can't stay over so Friday is all I have to look froward to and I haven't even booked the day off yet. If I hear the venue is announced early or tickets are going on sale in advance I'm gonna b gutted.

At least everyone has a chance of attending if tickets go onsale online instead of a selective few who can queue all day

At least everyone has a chance of attending if tickets go onsale online instead But that's not strictly correct either is it? By everyone mean people with access to an internet and phone at the precise time the tickets are on sale, not to mention access to credit card/bank card - hardly everyone. By selected few you mean those who are able to join a queue for a number of hours with cash in hand. I'm not saying either way is ideal but what I am saying is once you've gone down one route it's very difficult to turn off it. Yes I do agree advanced tickets would have worked better at the beginning where all tickets for all dates at all venues would have been available but to suddenly announce dates a week in advance has already meant some dates will be more difficult to attend due to advanced notice, if they also now put tickets to the advance market this would mean those who were just going to turn up on the day in hope would need to be able to be by a phone, with card in hand and hope they get through and are able to buy the number of tickets they need, and if not then tough, or pY over the odds through touts. None of this is ideal but once you go down the route of last minute announcements you really should stick with it. Whichever decision is made it's only fair if it's the same for everyone every time. With obvious exceptions for those who genuinely can't wait in queues for hours on end for reasons of health. Just an opinion and yes it would suit me if I go to Manchester on Friday with the same amount of info as everyone else and get an announcement at roughly the same time as everyone else.

I cannot see how it is fair for everyone by doing short notice queing with no tickets in advance I live in Cardiff which is 2.5 hours away on the train and with no chance of getting back at night so a hotel is required. There is no way I would go to London and queue all day and risk not seeing a gig after spending all that money on travel and accomodation What about families etc, they cannot just leave and queue all day. Tickets on online works for 99.9% of artists so I dont know why Prince would make his fans queue up in the cold for 10-14 hours. That isnt fair

Wow! It was pretty Amazing. Prince and the girls were clearly very happy. Highlights were endorphinemachine, I could never take...., she's always in my hair and something in the water, all fantastic!!!! Others were lets go crazy, funknroll, screwdriver, fixyourlifeup, play that funky music, purple rain, take me with you, raspberry beret and Lianne le Havas was on for one song... Can't remember right now. Prince, release it!

That isnt fair I'm not sure any of this is fair, I too have family and I too live in Wales, London is virtually impossible and Manchester won't be easy either. All I'm saying is once you've chosen one way for London you shouldn't now change it for Manchester. It may seem selfish but the fact i can probably go to Manchester and wait for announcement is lucky for me but it is also how all the dates so far have been handled. If I arrange Friday off work when I go back to the office and then I hear tickets are available via a website and I miss out because I'm in the office when the pre sale takes place then I will have booked a day off for nothing, and that wouldn't be fair either. In truth, none of this is perfect. If it had a choice I'd prefer advanced tickets for a tour, all the dates, all the venues all at the same time. It is what it is. I'm sure, like me, you have read all the reports from the shows and thought....why London only?

I dont mind that it is London only to be honest but a tour schedule/plan would have been good so I can make arrangements to go. i.e. book time off work, buy a ticket, book a hotel, transport etc He done proper gigs in the States so I dont see why he couldnt do the same here. How many people has he played to so far with these shows, not many if you look at the bigger picture. (3% of his fans maybe) I am not saying he needs to do the 02 again but his management need to do things that is practicle to the other 97% of his fans in the UK I am a little cheesed off to be honest my friend and I dont mean to rant at you !

Don't worry I haven't seen any of this as a rant, well no more of a rant than the one I'm having too, and that's not directed at you either. I suppose we should be appreciating him being a visionary or something like that? I'm cheesed off too and really hope I can get to manchester so I can say I saw 1 show. I agree, 21 nights at the 02 wouldn't suit all of this but some of the smaller Apollo type theatres across uk would have easily fitted the bill. I mean, he's never even wandered in to wales, Cardiff or Llandudno anyone?

He has kinda given a plan though now, get yourself to manchester next weekend, I was pissed like you about all the shows being in London, and made up he's coming to Manchester so i feel your pain, but Honestly get yourself up here friday or sat, drive up, sleep in your car if needs be, or hotels dont cost the earth like london, I've not heard of alot not getting to see a show, if they have queued, some have got into two shows in a night, so he is playing to the demand

I do agree with you, but these appear to be hype-building promotional events.. building a buzz for the new album. These are the kind of shows that get people talking. People missing out creates the illusion of huge demand. Prince tickets are the hottest tickets in town right now BECAUSE not everyone can get them. Everybody wants them, but only the luckiest get the chance. It may suck for most of us, but it's exciting and makes the media take notice.

Saw first show after queueing since 11.30am. Awesome show, but just wanted to say thank you and hello to the lovely people I met in the queue. Marion, Ronnie, son Callum, Harry, Sabrina, Clare, Finnish guy, Andy, the guy I met on Friday, and Maggie who I met on Friday. Hope you all had a brilliant night.
And, the whole point of this message, f*** you to the woman at the back of the stalls who ruined my night and many other people's by being such a f***ing b*tch. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. I know that if anyone reads this and experienced it they will understand. Peace and love x
Sorry for the negativity but am going to post anyway

Hits?! Prince might not swear anymore but i do. My opinion is fuck them. Basically.
Casuals need to read reviews before laying down their money. Morons.
If it keeps a few of them away from Manchester, all the better for real fans who know most of his stuff. [Edited 2/16/14 15:33pm]

basically loads of pushing and growling, she had a purple lead coming out of her earpiece and a note book, i wasn't sure for ages whether she worked at the venue or something but i don't think she did. she had a go at me for putting my arms in the air at the beginning and then pushed another girl really roughly loads of times. she didn't seem to be enjoying herself much though

In terms of the endless debate about tickets for these UK shows, I think prince is just very disillusioned by Ticketmaster and ticketing agencies in general. It is frustrating on one level, but I do admire the principle of it because he's basically stopping people from scamming him and his events. It's tough when someone takes your toy away but you sure learn a lot from it!

The pricing of these Hit N Run shows are so ad hoc. One show is $70, one show is $10, then another show some fans are let in for free during the end of show number 2 at Koko. [Edited 2/16/14 16:45pm] 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

I agree. In fact, I admire any artist that still pushes their new music. To be fair to Prince, there were more old than new. But not the obvious tracks. Shall we start the twitter rumour now that Prince will play just The News album in its entirely at manchester. The casual doves can stay at home. .
