Getting the train into london tomorrow hoping there's a gig. If not, I'll hang about until wednesday.

I've been following these pages for about 6 months or so as I had never been to a Prince gig and haven't wanted to miss out. Finally I managed my first show last night at Shepherds Bush, and from what I have been reading, and if I never get the chance to see him again, then this was the gig to see. At 48 years old, I've been to countless concerts in my lifetime, and can honestly say this clearly ranks among the best gigs ever in my book. Although advance ticketing would be a comfortable option, any negative thoughts I had about the first come first served policy have disappeared. The last minute spontaneity of the event, getting to the queue at 5pm, the £10 surprise at the door, the excellent seats on the first level, and being only meters away from George Clinton, were each a thrilling part of this experience which would not have been the same with any of those aspects missing. Looking forward to seeing how this "hit and run" tour plays out, and, although I'd prefer to buy tickets online, I'm ready to stand once again in a queue of any legnth at a moment's notice!
