Was totally awesome but no one nite alone I'm afraid... In the top 5 though. Now if john Blackwell had come on for a guest spot and played some TRC material wink
My 18th P gig and reaLly loved it, for sure.

To the lovely couple I shared a drink with right at the end before heading off and the 2 guys I chatted to on the tube.

Hi there, I was one of the guys on the Tube who had to get to Waterloo, lucky to just make it too. What an incredible day/night, even now, still can't really believe I got to see this gig. This was the Prince gig I always dreamed of, spontaneity, a set list that was out of this world, Prince and the band rocking and funky, obviously enjoying themselves. The crowd going absolutely nuts, it was so much fun, every element was perfect, I have never enjoyed a gig so much, it was a privilege to be there.

It was great to meet and talk to so many people who were such genuine fans and Prince recognised that too, happy you made it home and I had the same silly grin on my face too. I tried my best to explain how special the night was to friends today but superlatives only get you so far. The only people who really know how special that night was, were those of us who were there.

I was at the last aftershow at the O2 and I've seen Prince on the Nude Tour, Diamonds and Pearls, and three shows at the O2, but I think the Shepherds Bush Empire gig last night was on a completely different level. Prince was just really enjoying his new band, the crowd, he was so exciting, everything he did was amazing. I'm sure there will be other great gigs on this 'guerrilla' tour but last night was ours...!

I'm coming up in the last week of February. I've booked a week off work with the sole intention of seeing every gig that week. He better still be here!

In 2007, at the O2 the did 3 aftershows a week, 2 of which featured mr Prince.

After a few weeks this was the effective pattern.

(quite pleasant to check out London during the day, do an extended siesta and queue around 22:00 or so for the aftershows)

So I now decided I'm going down to London from Leeds for not only wednesday but thursday as well. Lucky I have a friend to stay with but of course he thinks I'm insane as well. I know I am but I know I would kick myself if a gig was on and I was at home and didn't have the £100.00 to pay for the train ticket last mintue, I might as well make my way down early on the coach.

My first ever Prince show & I am so glad I was there on Sunday. Yes, queued for 5 hours (bloody frozen - didn't really go that well prepared). I would have been totally screwed if there had been a dress code as I was in scruffy jeans & hoodie & my hair needed a wash (hadn't intended going out at all on Sunday)

The people in the queue were amazing - so friendly - I was on my own but 3 guys introduced themselves & said to join them plus 3 other girls each on their own. The guys took a food order from us & went to get it. People wandered off to chat to others, no problem reclaiming their place in the queue. We chatted, we laughed - suddenly the queue was properly moving & we were in!!!

Whoohoo - what a night!!! I hadn't even checked the last train times home so there was a chance I'd be stuck in London, wandering the streets all night. I didn't care! I was elated to have been there. As it happened, I met someone I knew & got a lift home.

And, yes, I'd do it all again... On leave this week, so who knows????!!!!

From London... Cuckoo...!

NOW what about a flood disaster gig? We pay, prince plays, money goes to victims US TALKIN'!

I've suggested they do this ticketed, as they'll raise more and could command a higher ticket price - let's see!

All help would be very much appreciated. Ticket idea would be good and bring in more £. Problem I can see with this is the short notice to organise. At the end of day what is important is to help others in the fastest way they can.

Another idea that could bring in more £ is for Prince to auction of something at gig. If everyone say purchase a raffle ticket at venue door. At near end of gig ticket number winner announced and prize given.

I don't think that short notice would be an issue for him, he could just put on a gig and give all the ticket/door money to charity?

A lot of people queued on Sunday expecting to pay £70/ticket
Charge that & donate £60/ticket to the fund biggrin

I know this thought will be love it or hate it, but I think a higher ticket price would work well for a charity gig. It could even be a "minimum" ticket price, so that those with more money than others could donate more - great PR for Prince, the celebs attending I would hope would give multiples of the "minimum", maybe even some name checks from Prince during the gig for the highest donators. Sky News is full of live coverage right now - an annoucement could be filmed by them or put out on BBC R6, then covered in the run up to the gig?

Playing at the weekend would maximise revenues, notice would help fans and ticketed would bring in the high rollers who wouldn't want to queue, and it would still be topical and generate a buzz. There's a lot of anti-government discussion at the level of support given to date - would be a great PR move I think.

Bristol would be a great place to hold the gig also. Maybe even hold some tickets back to give out for free to people volunteering to help their communities in these flood hit areas?

Hello all,
Been a member for over 6 years but never posted and have been reading without logging in.
Great to see so many got to the shows and had such a great time.
Heard the announcement on Sunday and my Sister and I decided that living in Ipswich, by the time we get there the queue would be massive and we wouldn't get in. How wrong we were!
Gutted does not cover it!!
Read a review from wrekkastow who lives here too, seems he made the right choice!
Will keep reading and won't make that mistake again!
And all good things, they say, never last.

If it's confirmed then I'm going. I'm working in vauxhall today which is only 5.4 miles away from the venue so I could go over there after work. Crappy work clothes on but I don't care. Just need to know if it's on or not. Oh and where to park?
