Valentines night - pick either a romantic evening with your partner OR funky night with Prince!

Oh my lawd, why do I get the feeling that many will be facing the same question on Friday. Imagine living miles away, partner is not a P fan BUT loves yo ass!...the show is announced on the day..with NO guranentees of more shows.....what the hell will you do?!!!!!!.

Me? - sorry but it has to be P, with loads of grovelling & a massive present to follow!

lol wife every time. I have to live with her wink

Having said that she's getting flowers delivered to work on Thursday 13th. Last few years I've rebelled against Valentines Day and being "guilt tripped" into doing something on a set day.

So Friday I might be off the hook haha!

Luckily for me I met my wife in 84, we spent our courting years listening to Prince music, learning the words together, so she would be coming with me. But if she wasn't a P fan I know where I would be smile

And I did spend a night in Prague on Valentines once watching a European football match so I have form smile

If he/she understood your love of Prince, he/she would be happy for you to go with his/her blessing. And if he/she doesn't, then if it were me, I'd be re-thinking whether or not I'm with the right person. If it were my partner who wanted to go to see say Guns N Roses which I hate, I'd either go along so that he gets to see his idols and I still get to spend the evening with him or let him go without me, no problem. If he's happy, I'm happy. Valentine's Day is every year. Prince isn't. If my partner didn't understand that, bye bye.

Take her with U wink

She's suffered my Purple Rain woo hooing enough over the years! lol

Fortunately she loves me enough to know how much it means to me, so that's all good. Plus she finds Valentines Day all a bit false and forced...means so much more when you do the romantic stuff spontaneously the rest of the year!

I did have to explain who my new funky Facebook friend was the other day....she said you look like Courtney Cox biggrin I explained you're one of the legendary O2 2007 Org crew, and she said Ahhhhh (I do go on about that night a bit!)

Ahhh, yeah, that's been said to me before, except I haven't had any work done on my face so I have more wrinkles than her! Hope you didn't get in trouble. I'm honoured to be one of the legendary 02 2007 Org crew! Great that we can hook back up again 7 years on as though a day hasn't passed.

Wives are gonna hate me...

But, speaking as a female, I wouldn't want to prevent any partner of mine from seeing anything he really wanted to (Prince, big match, whatever...) be it Valentine's day or not. Valentine's is overhyped & overpriced.

I wish somebody would shoot that bloody cupid cherub with his own arrow!!! wink

Yeah, I keep on telling him. He'll be at the next gig though, as will you and I, so we'll have a little mini 2007 Org reunion then. Definitely smile

Totally! I'm primed to drop everything like a hot rock and get my ass to London as soon as the next show is announced. Only day I really can't do is Saturday as I've organised a big get together for family and friends....you so know its gonna be Saturday now! lol

Yeah Saturday not good for me either. Usually Saturday is best night for me but I recently did my PADI Open Water Scuba Dive Course and it's the Dive Show at Excel London on Saturday and I'm going to get some dive gear and I plan to spend all day there. However, I'd definitely have to consider leaving early and nipping off. How good would it be though if it were at Indigo2, I could just nip over on the cable cars!

So "fun" isn't allowed on the Org forums anymore? Who the hell voted for that rule....?

/

And a long shot I know, but I think this topic might be in Concerts because its a question about going to a Concert on Friday or staying in with one's beloved....I think that might be the link there...possibly...

Well, I really don't mind the rain,And a smile can hide all the pain.
But you're down when you're ridin' the train
That's takin' the long way

And I dream of the things I'll do
With a subway token and a dollar tucked inside my shoe
There'll be a load of compromisin'
On the road to my horizon
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shinin' on me....

together now................... easy tiger wink
