So if tickets are £70 a pop are we still expecting a short enough set to allow a second show??

If this is true, I'm turning back!

Aye, I'd gladly pay £70 wiht 48 hour notice, even 24 hour at a push, but to travel down for 3-4 hours to stand in a line and not even get in.... no chance

No guarantee of anything with P. He decides how he feels on the night. Regardless of what you paid or what trouble you have taken to get there. Could be concert of the century or he could walk off stage after an hour. The fact he is not going through official ticket outlets means he is even less accountable for his actions.

This is being icorrectly reported as another £10 gig on some sites, so the crowds may well be crazy, go crazy when they reach the ticket box..

Might be easier on the Tube. Cab would be 25 quid at a guess. Loads of cheap hotels in Shepherds bush. Go to laterooms.com.

is tube or taxi quickets?

wtf is the tube station near kigns x now? is it open?

Quickest on a Sunday will be cab, and quicker it is, the cheaper it will be.

The tube at Kings Cross, is still there underneath. Just the entrances have moved a bit.

I think £70 is good news to be honest. That will rule out a fair few "hot act local might as well go see him" type people. Can't see groups of people pushing in etc at 70 notes a pop

Shephers Bush Empire have confirmed ticket prices for tonights gig at 70 quid EACH.

I'mnot going anway but they can fuck off even more now.

70 quid is reasonable these days if they put on a show of at least 2 hours plus a small encore.

If you think 70 quid is too much in sich case, then the exchange rate of the UK pound should be adjusted.

More like 150 per 100 euro or so.

At this time:

70.00 GBP = 84.2396 EUR

1 GBP = 1.20342 EUR

Which is kinda ridiculous. Compare the fake GDP's, the understated debts, the peak oil effects on the noth sea oil wells, etc.

£70 is reasonable, if your gaurenteed a ticket with good notice, with 6 hours notice its a joke

If anyone's interested they can come and queue outside my house in the cold until 7pm for only £35! That's a 50% saving on the Shepherds Bush Empire Cold Queue.

£35 cash only - doors open at 7. Call The Midwife at 8.

Agreed! The price is not the issue for me, it's the inconvenience of going there with no guarantee of getting in...I'd even pay twice that if it was an online sale and I had the chance of getting comfortable seats on the balcony without having to wait hours in the cold... Maybe the price will help weed out all the low-lifes and the queue will dissipate as many people realize they can't afford it!

Its a good price, but maybe they should have said that with the first announcement, people are going to go queuing for £10 entry like the other shows, and like price said the shows would cost, it could end in people kicking off at the price when they get there

Logistical question, what are the practicalities of playin a club show at a different venue after Shep Bush that does not have a noise curfew, regarding moving the equipment, or is it just the guitars/drums and they use the venue's PA and backline? How does it normally work?

Is all this shit effect you guys like it's effecting me?

I'm actively starting to dislike 3EG and Prince, probably for the first time ever.

Even through the years of BS we have had from him with cancelled concerts and websites.

This has changed my view of the little guy. I didn't mind Pretzelbloodylogic, even bought it to support them on itunes. Now I fucking hate it and have zero interest in the album. I hear people saying this has something to do with ticket touts, it hasn't. he couldn't care less, it's just about PR.

£70 is ok for a concert ticket, but how much are the 8 hours in the cold worth?

.....

.....

This is becoming the reverse of PR in my book.

He may grab a few headlines, but wait a week or two and see how the ashes settle.

Bad move P.

And by the way Shepards Bush is a terrible venue if packed to capacity. I've left a gig there before becasue we couldn't even see the stage.

You pay £70 when you reach the door and the place is not sold out.

So no guarantee necessary.

Also you pay £70 for the show, the waiting is extra.

Prob cash in hand as well.

Think it too much for his 3EG stuff to be honest waiting in line for hours.

If they sold online with proof of ID when you get there e ticket stop the touts.

It's effecting me for over a year.

At least since these try-out shows started.

It's like being extra critical. Or maybe more 'normal' as seen by others. lol

You know what, I don't even think this is necessarily genius PR strategy - think you are giving everyone too much credit... It's clearly just a shambolic attempt at playing some gigs with no thought to the logistics and surrounding carnage..

It's amateur management at best...

Why? Why should he just tie himself to only ever doing a tour for established fans? What is wrong with him, for once, doing something different and trying to reach out to a different and younger audience?

Jeez, he steps out of the box once and just because there's some whinging fannies who can't be arsed to do anything that involves them getting out of an armchair and perhaps taking a bit of a risk for a change, then he's now just being ridiculous?!

Pure selfishness on your part - Prince won't do it how you want it, so you throw your toys out the pram. Well, stay in your pram razz

I'm not throwing anything, and there's no need to get personal. I have a life. Am I going to drop everything and make a round trip of over 1000 miles on the off chance I might get lucky and catch a show? I wouldn't, even if it was an option. Would I make that round trip for a show I know is going to happen and I have a ticket for? You bet, and I have, several times.

Ok, look, sorry if that sounded a bit harsh and it wasn't entirely directed at you - it's everyone who is moaning about how it is not convenient for them, so they're ridiculing it. You know what, I'd rather see people just being excited about the event and perhaps wishing well to those who manage to make one - wouldn't that be nice?

But, no, we get tonnes of negativity and bashing just because, for once, Prince is doing a hit and run in the UK. And people would rather heap scorn on it, just because this time round it doesn't suit them, rather than hope that the lucky folks that make it (not to mention, perhaps, a little goodwill for one of their favourite musicians) have a great time.

I may or may not make one of the gigs. We all have lives and for some, like yourself, that's a mad trip for no guarantee. As it stands, I live 11 miles from the Electric Ballroom. I couldn't make Thursday - I run 2 businesses and have a 7-month old baby boy to look after. I have priorities - but if I don't make a show, it won't be the end of the world (or the start of some online vendetta against Prince!) and if I do make one then I'm sure it'll be as good as any of the other times I've seen him over the past 3 decades.

We all have amazing memories of brilliant shows we got to see that are personal to us (and there will have been folks who couldn't make that gig). Why do we have to sour that, just because we might miss out this time around? You don't have to piss on the Parade, just because you can't take part.

I assume you can now see that my observation, which is what it was, is correct. This shambolic non-tour is annoying fans.

I get why the tickets are more than £10 as they want to avoid the small percentage of casual fans being dicks and pushing in/stampeding - but surely somewhere in the middle (£40) would be better? And for £70, they really should be putting ticket sales online...

I know and the only way home from late gig is night buses that area.

I do not like the venue much. Sticky carpets but upstairs is better least you have a seat.

Think I wait for the roundhouse 100 club gigs.

When I first heard he was landing on our shores for this 'tour' I said to my wife that I would happily pay £150 for a ticket to see him and take her to her first Prince concert. I would still happily pay that price for a ticket. But what I am not prepared to do is to travel for 3 hours to get there with no guarantee of a ticket. It's all a bit of a shambles really .....

I don't mind the price but I don't want to stand there all day then all night and maybe not get in? Although at these prices the queue may be shorter than last week. £70 does seem to be official on the O2 Shepherd's Bush feed.
