Probably a coincidence but Matt Everitt, the BBC reporter who went to the press conference on Tuesday has just posted that there is an interview with George Clinton at Shoreditch House at 5pm. Curious. Can't see it myself Clinton wouldn't fit in with the current 3EG sound.

I was gutted about the '07 Koko show. Had tickets in my basket, the checkout fucked up and then they were sold out RIP

Another day, another dilemma about whether or not to head into Central London on the off chance that I'll be in the right place at the right time for prince-y. On the one hand, it's cold and wet outside, and I'm already utterly exhausted. On the other hand.... you gotta speculate to accumulate.... so.... It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

Gutted I didn't get to see Prince the other night. Consoled myself with listening to one of my favourite ever gigs I went to - at Indigo2 on 28th August 2007 where he had a similar setup. Rocked out with a power trio of Prince, bass and drums. Wicked night.

This is such bullshit. Like he needs PR??!! He sold out the O2 21 times last time he was here. Stop dicking everyone around and just give us some dates already. With tickets. People are flying in "on the off chance". Bullshit.

Like a lot of people on here now in my mid 30's with a job and responsibilities no longer living in London. Do miss the buzz of not being able to attend all these special experiences but I am grateful I did have some already. The Astoria 24th march 1995 being my favourite and without a doubt the best live experience I have ever had bar none! I hope everyone who is putting in the work has a bloody good time at the gigs when they do happen and write about them on here. If tickets go on sale with plenty of notice and I can get there then I am there! Have fun

I bet you that Prince has thrown a wobbly over Ronnie Scott's. Especially since he even name checked them to the press. There is probably a massive charm offensive going on right now to secure it as a venue again, just to save face and pretend the fallout never happened. "My God it's full of Stars"

You can relax for now - Boris Johnson is still the biggest at the moment

Did anyone even confirm that Ronnie Scott snub? He's probably just been recording or rehearsing somewhere completely oblivious to all this conjecture and rumour Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Its beginning to look like nothing has been properly planned-all the hype-momentum now waning-people losing interest-need something special to pick the purple people up again.

The Hackney Empire and The Troxy in East London are pretty iconic.

Oh God it would be f***ing incredible if he played The Cavern. I've played the Cavern a few times and I just can't imagine him playing something THAT small I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Latest rumour doing the rounds on Facebook is the Hammersmith Apollo Monday and Tuesday. Apparently this has been confirmed. Anyone got info on this.
Just add to this, on gigsandtours website, some booking that was on feb 16th has been postponed. Naturally this is all speculative at the moment. [Edited 2/8/14 13:10pm] If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

I'm REALLY hoping for a show on Monday because I've been planning on heading down to London tomorrow to see a show the following day. I'll be travelling from Manchester so i'm trying to justify travelling all the way to London on the off chance he plays, but hopefully we'll hear something definite tomorrow. instead of posting bullshit rumours, why don't those about to post rumours spend two fucking seconds googling the venues webshite to check listing and also doublecheck on ticketbastard to see the listings first?
the cavern is booked up and the apollo is booked tue-fri so obviously those rumours are just a load of shite
unless there is official word or something confirmed, take your rumours and leave them on social media instead of giving them legs

Hammersmith Apollo has something on the Sunday the 9th but then nothing until the 15th...that's 5 nights open....But if he's going to "work his way up to the bigger venues" then that's a big jump from the Electric Ballroom...

Sure, I probably used the wrong phrase. I just think it was one of those random "pick an iconic venue" tweets, a joke tweet with just the right amount of plausibility, then the rumour starts to gain momentum...
