New topic PrintableSigh. It used to be said that the English's willingness to queue was the glue that held our society together (or something). I guess that's no longer true. And it's not just in outside Prince concerts you'll see basic courtesy being trashed in London. We're going to hell in a handcart and all that... It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

I live in hope of level headed adults debating Prince maturely.... Right and wrong is subjective - what works for some (queuing in the rain for hours on end at short notice!) won't work for others and vice versa....plus - at the end of the day it is only a concert. Prince could announce dates for May and I be gubbed due to work commitments and holiday! So what - I'll deal with it. Short notice gigs like this may be frustrating for those who miss out but for those who make it tonight...that's a pretty cool "I was there" moment!

This is what happens when there is no organisation
Glad I am at home in the warm to be honest
If this is supposed to be his UK tour and is going to happen for every gig over the next few weeks its is really bad way to treat the fans

Yep, if they'd sold tickets wouldnt have happened, sure some people might have cashed in but its a no brainer for organisation they should have had them in place

Cant go on night after night like this, camden council wont stand for it surely. People drinking in the queue now, hope this goes smoothly. I expect a door rush though when they finally open "U have just given birth 2 a 7 pound Bambi..." SBE 9Feb14

I'm not sure standing out in the rain for 10 hours works for anyone. Glastonbury is only a concert when it comes down to it. You wouldn't hear Evis saying 'yeah, we'll be here again tomorrow, come on down'. All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.

Those poor people who have been there all day in this weather !
I am not on twitter but someone should tweet Kiran Sharma about it. EthicalMum

Named and shamed! These people clearly do not have consideration for those who have braved the elements all day. Do they not realise that every single one person who does not join the queue at the end of it, they are pushing every single person behind them even further back. Selfish beyond words.

Anyone think its strange that Daily Mail havent run the story on their website today? Maybe they got in trouble after Liz Jones opened her mouth on Big brother about going to a Price Concert this month haha

It cannot be expensive. That is mr P's strategy for the past few years. Really.
Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

....so don't do it! | |

Stand tall and stand firm. Don't let them in! It's you or them! My poor brother just texted me saying people are turning up and pushing but it's not his way to push back and he feels uncomfortable pushing back. I said you're going to have to otherwise you'll get pushed out of the way, they'll get in and you won't. That's not fair.

Exactly. This could quite easily turn into bad PR. I don't get peoples attitudes on just wondering up & jumping the queue, especially as they really couldn't give a shit about the people behind 'playing by the rules'. People who've given up their days are going to miss out on this.
We need tickets, organisation, announcements, wristbands etc, as unfortunately in this society, a lot of people suck.

not pointing finger at Prince here, but his team need to wake up!! he has a massive fan base in the UK ,we are not talking an ant and dec concert , demand to see him is crazy, come on should have been ticket only, feel for those who have been in line all day only to be shate on my selifish twats!!! what you need is some real lovin, instead of these young ass fools!! I got the butter for your muffin, just need the keys to your room

I was thinking that too but I'm not on Twitter either. I did post on Electric Ballroom's Facebook page to get out there and sort it out there. I feel so bad for the people who have been out there all day who now might not get in because of other selfish people.

Already did. They don't care though.

This is the reason i stopped myself from going tonight, by now i would have had at least 2 fights with these wankers pushing into the Q. Good luck to those that have been there all day.

PEOPLE PUSHING IN ARE MAJOR A£$3HOLES
THERE IS A SOLUTION GOING FORWARD THAT COSTS NOTHING...
The venue(s) need to go and get a raffle ticket book and give everyone in line their number starting with "1" foe the first person in the queue and so on. No raffle ticket or not in sequence you don't get in.
SIMPLE
That way the purple hardcore nutters who have been there since midday in the pouring rain and tackling the tube strike etc get their reward.
It really isn't that hard. 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

So excited for you guys who are going to get in tonight.go and party for all us die hard prince fans who are with you and spirit but have to many life commitments to be there.lets hope he does something before he goes home that we can buy tickets for as my love for him never dies however old I get xxxx

yeah even if they did 800 or so tickets online one or two tickets per card and the rest on the door, fair enough they might not want to give up £1 per ticket for an online ticket agency to sell them for them but an extra £1 or £2 ontop of the price would have made the world of difference for people there today or ticket only then people have no excuse to go down if they arent getting in, hopefully these have been arrange at short notice and other venues might work better
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
An online ticket sale would have solved this. I don't mind a fee as long as i don't have to,queue... One minute they want peace……
Then do everything to make it go away.

Would be a waste of time. Organisation clearly isn't her stong point. If it wasshe was have made sure fans were aware what was happening and when so fans could make informed decisions.
She also would have sorted out hot drinks and unbrellas for the fans who've been queing all day instead of leaving it to Zoopla!
Terrible oragnisation and no way to treat fans.
I'll wait for something that's been properly oragised or go without.
