Whether the record company pay or not, it's still not revenue generating. He had 10 security at LLH's flat, that's half the money right there, and you have to expect there will be considerably more tonight.
Weather he makes money from the gigs or from the label, him and his team will be getting paid one way or another. Could be the tour is sponsored by some brands, Events i've managed in the past with some top artists had sponsors from Coca-cola and things, this boosts revenue, I guess we'll never know, but he wont be doing it for no profit thats for sure.
Sponsors means contracts. Considering this is a tour still in the making I can't see it, what if he decides he's had enough tonight and heads home again? No deal done on that basis. |

My pal is somewhere near the front of the queue and I'm thinking of going to join him, but I can't get into London until around 5. Not a queue jumper by nature, so a bit apprehensive. Will I be shamed out of the queue by angry funk fans?
Personally, and i mean this with respect, i'd punch you in the face. We'll someone at the back who actually stood in line in the rain all day (after possibly getting a plane to London, maybe me in a few days) won't get in because you skipped. And he might just justifiably kick you in the bollox. |

Why does he do this? He knows the people watching this show tonight will have had to have queued in the pissing rain for over 5 hours (probably 10 hours as thats when he confirmed tonight's show). Why? Because he knows we will. Thats just not right.
Have we actually had a press conference that has told us anything apart from stand in line from 9am in the rain?! |

My sister works very close to there, but she's out in India at the mo....if she wasn't I'd have put a call in for her to pop over with some McDonalds and coffee for the guys. Hope Tony is keeping his spirits up. Chance of seeing Prince tonight would keep me going, but its an evil day out there weather wise! |

Starting to get a bit irked now
Was all up and ready to head down to Landan Tann in the hope there might be the slightest chance of getting a ticket but looking at pics and tweets now, it just seems pretty inevitable I will ultimately face disappointment.
Now fair enough if this all pans out with a series of shows announced by the end of today but if this the way things are looking to be then I am really gutted.
I know there's been the whole
"finish when people don't want us no more..."
"move to bigger venues..."
etc etc
but I want to see all this information written or typed or anounced in some way shape or form(!)
I know i'm asking for the impossible in prince world but my exitement and enjoyable anxiety has now just turned into frustration |

Sounds like spirits are high, certainly the majority of those in the line now will get in, just as long as loads of friends of others in the line don't start piling in at the last minute. I think everybody there who has braved the elements to see Prince tonight should see him. |

- Well said, I am with you on this. I am local but feel the same. We have been excited since 24th January over this. I do have to work and having spent Mon/Tue and now today watching and waiting I need to get on with my work and my life.
- I long for an announcement that tickets ofr dates will go on sale on Friday morning then we can log in, buy, make plans and enjoy.

Well, in typical Prince fashion, the fans are being treated like shit. Used as PR fodder. How hard would it have been to post details about entry today? I feel sorry for those standing in the worst weather in years. I'm sure the gig will be amazing, but this was unnecessary IMO.
Good PR though Prince.. "Fans queue for 10 hours in torrential rain" wonderful. I hope the rest of this tour is handled differently. "My God it's full of Stars"

That's at 3:30pm. What are the odds of the queue being less than 1,000 at, say, 6:45 (when I get off work)?
Pretty slim, I bet. |

Would the queue be any different when P had put a small advert in the newspaper saying doors at 19:00, show at 21:00 ?
He did not cause the rain or your lack of proper clothing.
If P would have done this 'tour' in the Netherlands, people would have queued from the moment that the news was known. And when I say people, I mean too many people.
I am not saying that that is good but just as a matter of fact. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |

You may well be right - people started queuing at around midday for an alleged 2pm ticket sale. If they'd known that they were queuing for a 7pm door opening they might have done exactly the same.
.
But it still would be nice to know in advance, don't you think?
.
And what possible good reason can there be for keeping this kind of information secret?? Who benefits? Nobody! The gig is going to sell out no matter what, we all know that.
.
All that's been done is to make people stand in the rain and not tell them how long they'll have to wait, or whether they'll get in.
.
There have been tweets about tickets going on sale at 2pm, or an announcement at 2pm, none of which turned out to be true. What is so wrong with giving out information???????

You can take the Northern Line up to Camden Town
They are a different union and not on strike |

Not all of the underground is not working today. Northern Line, which Camden Town station is on, is running a full service. Not sure how that ties in with Waterloo but if you can get the northern line from Waterloo, you're laughing. |

I'm not there incidentally, so I'm not bitching about standing in the rain, I'm too old for that shit. If people want to queue for 8 hours knowing what they are queuing for that's great. A little information would have meant that people could have decided and prepared to wait for this long (in the rain). A lot of people queuing thought they were waiting for tickets at 2pm not another 5 hours or so in the rain. That's just bad form from Prince and his team. But it's perfectly obvious why they did it. To get more media attention. "My God it's full of Stars"
