Well last night was for the London based fans, hopefully the next few days and weeks(?) will allow for the rest of us to travel up to town with pre-bought tickets etc cool

No way am I going to travel up, queue, potentially get very cold and wet just on the off-chance.

I guess we'll be scanning venue/ticket/fan sites on a daily basis wink

I can't imagine Prince playing outside of London for this small stint, shame but it cuts down on his travel and stuff. He knows fans will travel to see him if they are 'dedicated' enough although that's not always simple, I'm resigned to thinking I won't be able to make any of the dates due to work commitments.

Shame he's not doing Birmingam Institute, that's a nice small venue, saw Andy Allo there last November and Har Mar Superstar too. Got to chat to them both which was fun.

Nothing confirmed, no specific dates. As we know already.

Prince "said" this will be open-ended, stay as long as people want us, not even aware of it being PR 30th anniversary, DOES want to keep tickets cheap (around $10), did not specifically say no to Glastonbury.

didn't rule out glastonbury

t annoyingly I'm working until 6.45pm and I have a feeling just rocking up to the door at 7pm isn't going to cut it. I strongly suspect I'd need to be there a bit earlier than that so it looks like I'm going to miss out.

If you work nearby you will go over there to let us know what is happening, right?\

If the weather is bad and if it's a late show you might even get in...

Yes, of course. I will wander over there at lunchtime, and will try to pop round later in the afternoon and let everyone know what I see, though I'm pretty sure there will be people updating from the queue anyway.

I think that Prince has essentially done a Paul McCartney when he kicked off Wings and arrived without bookings!
The Camden ballroom knows what he's like and has done their best but he's killed their website already!
He's also reckoned without the 48 hour tube strike (I have arrived in London independent of the news and had reckoned without it too so big problemos ahead!) which probably accounts for why they couldn't run a 3am show since staff possibly wouldn't have got to work or home. The strike started to kick in at about 9pm.

Expect this to pan out reasonably in coming days on getting an opportunity to see him.
Don't leap before you've got a good look as it's easy to blow a lotta money fast on cabs.

Their website has been down since yesterday afternoon before all this, they are either updating it for prince, or its actually just problems their end, but they did announce ont heir facebook early afternoon that their site was down due to issues

Yes I agree.

I managed to get near the front he was about 10 feet away a barrier with a drop away from the stage.

Electric Ballroom do not usually do buy in advance any more box offive because I tried for gig last year.

But you never know because sites could crash and maybe have a ID thing and open up for in person sales.

It was definitely raining alot last night dreadfully. I had good idea they let the crowd waiting outside as goodwill and pr exercise. Alot of the young people seemed to be Lianne friends. Her flat mate was right next to me.

Good luck everyone getting tickets.

  • I work in Camden so the location is good for me but I would much prefer some sort of ticket system as queuing and not knowing whether I could get in or not is not at all appealing. A few years ago I would have been gutted at missing last night but it has got me thinking that I am not up for a flashmob type gig.
  • If we have all been glued to sites and couldn't work this out how did people know about the Ballroom?
  • New report on local LBC radio this morning said that he played 'in front of up to 3oo people' which is certainly small and it is a small venue but I would have thought capacity was more than that, certainly seems it when it is open with the market stalls. Godd to see everyone's updates and comments. Cheers.
