I'm really hoping P plays some dates in the UK that arent festivals if this is true. I cant stand festivals
If he does, I might be dragging my boyfriend with me to one haha

Well, if you don't already have tickets you can't go because of how Glastonburys ticketing system works. It's already sold out, and they can only be used by the person who bought the tickets, meaning you can't even gift them to someone else, nevermind sell them.
EDIT: Also, Metallica are headlining Sonisphere at Knebworth, which is likely to be an exclusive deal, so I doubt this article has any truth to it, unfortunately. [Edited 1/16/14 14:20pm]

Metalica are playing Sonisphere only UK date this year exclusive to them so that rubbishes that rumour

The local papers are all over the rumour Prince is playing ;
........... but still no official confirmation.
If only the NPG Club still existed then maybe a chance to get a ticket

There is a slim chance to get tickets (if you have a local address - within about 15 miles of the festival site) with the locals ticket sale (some time in March I think). But there probably won't be any confirmation untill after then.... do I or don't I? we he or won't he?

I honestly cannot see it, I can't imagine Prince would allow the Broadcast of his Set on the BBC, unless its pre-recorded and has control over what is put out?
It would be good and if he was to play a full UK arena tour, would be great promotion and probabaly open himself up to a whole new younger fan base who may have otherwise not heard much by him.
Who knows? We'll have to wait and see

Good idea, i will look into that. I have friends with stalls, but still very difficult to get a ticket now.
Theres is always the pole vaulting option. [Edited 1/21/14 23:35pm] love is touching souls

I'm with you there! But having said that the Hop Farm was fantastic, great crowd, great atmosphere, pretty easy to get down the front...glad I saw him there rather than the crushed mayhem of Glasto if he plays there this year www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

....it's not impossible though - Syracuse and Dortmund were pretty much as live broadcasts (I think!) albeit in the dim and distant past....plus he allowed Sky News to broadcast the opening of the last of the 21 nights in London 2007. Anyway, I don't think there's any requirement for an act at Glastonbuty to have their (full, at any rate) set broadcast live - so that wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker.I think the Stones last year only had an hour or so broadcast and that was a last minute increase (original agreement was 4 songs).
To be honest, I think it's more likely to be true this year than any time in the last 3 or 4, with a new album about to be unleashed. Whether that makes it probable or not is another matter.
Anyway, just my tuppence worth of idle speculation!

Your right the stones set on the BBC was only part of the performance. Their set was amazing with so many hits it was unbelivable - where as a few freinds said the BBC broadcast was mostly just the blues jam in the middle of thier set.

Stones did themselves no favours there...I watched their set at home at it was pretty dire, like all they showed was the slow bit in the middle of the set where people wander off for a beer! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Wooops someone got a stern email from his lawyers, maybe my mind working over time.... but maybe this is to cut it off before tickets for a tour go on sale? If there is rumours he is playing Glasto might effect ticket sales?

Prince at Glastonbury ain't gonna happen.... he doesn't want his fans getting wet (seriously!) and covered in shit!
He likes us to remain "THE BEAUTIFUL ONES" We can Funk!!!!

If not this year, maybe next. He fits the "classics" they want headlining.
He could release his new album by giving it away free on entrance.
