BUTTERMILK sounds interesting to me; is that Prince on the guitar? It sounds like him.

Looks promising but I'd prefer a cd, not too fussed about downloads.

The iTunes preview of the Espresso Mix reminds me of Boogie Oogie Oogie by Taste of Honey. lol

the tone of the guitar in the Buttermilk mix reminds me of

Money Maker Funky Jazz or whatever it's called.

nice little EP. just wish there would be some extra vocals,

or something or an extended mix of the original.

The teasers on soundcloud and youtube were taken from the Buttermilk mix?

I had zero Xpectations for this release but I can honestly say it's just okay. Out of all the remixes, I enjoy the "Buttermilk" one the most but wish it was longer. Its far from the "Beautiful Experience" or any other "experiences". This release really lacks imagination and creativity. Frankly, I'm quite bored with the song now. It was enjoyable when it first came out but to look at this song as a single during the re-release, with a (horrible) cover from a 10 year old joke to try to capitalize on, a way too late and poor video and now this remix album is kinda questionable. He's grasping at straws. If this is the best that he has at this point I could careless about the rest. Wish I could sing it's praise but still disappointed with this years material.

itunes? Not 4 me, mp3.

I'll hold out for a Prince album, produced by Prince. Cool that he's giving Josh some shine though...

What could possibly be the reason to put all this comparative effort into these alternate remixes and not include an extended version or any additional ad libs or new vocals? A lacklustre release for that reason alone.

Just for accuracy's sake, iTunes doesn't sell mp3's.

Hell, at this point, considering the way most music is mastered and mixed, a 256 aac/m4a sounds better than a lot of CD's.

that's basically what i'm thinking too, after listening to it 3 times now.

the "buttermilk" mix is cool enough. but it's not enough to save the EP

from being kinda boring. the production is nice. the original song is a

nice track. but i would have been much happier if this EP would have

been:

/

1. Breakfast Can Wait

2. Buttermilk Mix

3. New Song

4. Breakfast Can Wait Extended Mix

5. Breakfast Can Wait (3EG Live In Studio)

/

oh well. it's nice enough to see him actually care about one of his new

songs enough to give it this much attention for a change.

paulludvig, maybe 3EG could have created a blues or slow rock version, a la many of their live song templates? But, Prince is not on his A game with this one. He could have hit it out the Park.

if there are 2 albums, and one is 3rd eye girl and the other NPG,

wouldn't it be fun if for the singles they did remixes as recorded

by the other band? so NPG singles get 3EG reworkings and vice

versa smile it could be a fun way to tie the 2 projects together a bit.

Unfortunately, and as always, your suggestions are BETTER than what Prince ends up doing! Instead of your idea, we have... Josh.

Great point and I thought the same thing. The promotion and marketing for this is really poor. If you want to sell your product, developing and having a marketing and distribution plan would be a good idea. Theres no mention of this being for sale on the official twitter feed, its not for sale or even mentioned of 3rdeyetunes (I lost count but isn't that the 4th website this year). The fan pages on Facebook have promoted this better than the official organisation. And that says what ?

I won't be purchasing anything from this dude until he starts putting forth

a little effort into is craft.

The song is weak, the video for the song is weak, this remix ep is weak etc...

Why have multiple remixes for a half-assed track?

Prince,really man?

Is this the best you got now?

I won't buy this maxi single, it's not even a strong tack even tought I found it decent. The maxi single should at least contain some other version of BCW by Prince + extended version 2 make it interesting. Instead there's forgettable remixes by the new star Josh and that's something I don't care much for
