Please forward me the facts on how an opening act hurts sales. Thats crazy...I will go to a shows more when there is a good opener and headliner.

hers some math how a openning doesnt draw people into a concert and would rather have the headliner play longer and yes most people dont know who

Janelle Monae is.

she is playing on her own 1000 seat concert venues average ticket price 30$.00 and its not a big deal ,so how many 200$ tickets do you think shes selling by adding her to the bill maybe 50.

also people are getting older they like to be home at a reasonable time, yeah i know its prince bla bla bla and he does what he wants ,well guess what hes not selling tickets like he did 20 years ago and its still a business and he has to eat.look at the last arena tour he did in the united states its not like tickets where flying of the shelfs even at 25$ a ticket he proplems selling them.

live nation figured out if the gave away tickets to there concerts that dont sell or what is called papering the house ,people will spend on an average 20.00$ per person on crap inside the venue plus a parking fee so its a win win for them and they dont have to pay the artist on those tickets

Oh my! My sis is going to be so excited. We picked the right night to go. My sis usually has Janelle's new cd playing in the car and had the nerve to ask me "Did you know she did a song with Prince on this cd?" I laughed because she had no idea I already knew. Now I'm really psyched to be going to Sunday's show. Prince and Janelle in one night....awesome! dancing jig woot!

Nice lol This should def help tickets sell 4 Sunday's show... wonder what else is up the Purple sleeve yoda

actualy this will hurt sales, 99 percent of the people dont know who she is or care or go for oppening acts. in fact what would have helped if the announced an evening with prince no openning act show starts at 8 pm.

most people dont like to stay in venues late any more, some have babby sitter issue and other reasons most people perfer concerts to be over by 11 pm.i know people here dont care but every one else does and it hurt sales.

not many people want to see a act go on at 9.30 or 10 pm and play very late in a large setting.

I doubt it will hurt sales. Janelle's name is 'out there' now, plenty know who she is. Going to be a fun night on 12/29...can't wait!

I just called Ticketmaster and they told me they have to send a request to the arena to be able to exchange seats. Takes 2 or 3 days! I did it in case any better ones pop up because she said it would be good going forward.

Is anyone familiar with the Mohegan Sun Arena? I got Section 14 tickets for Saturday, 3rd and 4th seat in from the stage, or parallell to the stage. If I had a chance to trade for section 15, would you do this? Or keep section 14? It looks like the seats are close, but I do want to see well enough... Would love advice!

Lol...I heard about that but honestly, I will ignore it because it is a bunch of childness nonsense and
false accusations, but I guess that is how some folks get through their day. Lol but thanks for letting me know. smile

Cool, my niece will b 2 rows behind you. This will be her first Prince concert. She is so happy my sis and I will be taking her to the show, even though we're sitting in the upper level and she will be sitting in the lower level in a better seat than we are. But once the show starts she will be having so much
fun.

It kind of sucks if you are at a show with tons of empty seats. Ask anyone who was at the NJ shows at the beginning of W2A Tour.

You would if you paid big money and there was no energy in the building and everyone was sitting down for most of the show. Not my idea of what a Prince show should be like.

I've been going to see Prince since the early/mid 80's and that NJ show was the 1st dud that I've been to. Esperanza Spalding opened and no one even seemed to notice although she was very good. I did go to 3 out of the 4 MSG shows which were awesome. I just hope these shows coming up are similar in energy. I have great seats for Fri but it's nice being at a soldout show.

he gets paid one of 2 ways a flat rate or guarente plus percentage so it can effect his pocket book how many seats he sells.ps this a chat forum you can allways skip over my posts i wont bother me.

second i went to the new jersey and the msg shows and it was a big differnce.

if he had mgr they would have canceled new jersey just to protect him from it being so empty and financial loss.yes the energy did sux

msg was a much better vibe

pss, notsure how many people on this board have actualy done shows at this venue ive done a few ,that means i was paid not a guest as well most venues around the country so all i was doing was try to help people not panick about seats and letting them know most where being held back and to also book hotels as there areant many and price will go up.

pssss, you dont have to read my post

i started seeing prince 1979 and saw most of the nyc free club shows in the 80's 90 ,neils ,club usa ,the world and others

have happy holiday

If you remember, they did end up canceling one of the NJ shows one of the nights and made it up with an additional MSG show in January (or maybe the last week of December). One positive thing I remember about the NJ shows was when half the area left and then he came back and did another set with the lights on for about 20 more minutes. That set was great.

Big City! PRINCE To Play 3 Special East Coast Shows In Late December!

PRINCE Promo Photo 2013 NPG Records

PRINCE will be playing 3 special East Coast gigs December 27th, December 28th, and December 29th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.

This news was first broken this morning by Rolling Stone.

In a live Twitter interview/Q&A on Friday, they (PRINCE/3RDEYEGIRL) hinted at gigs in late December.

This marks Prince's first performance since 2 late night gigs at his Paisley Park studio in Minneapolis in October along with a new album due in Early 2014, an appearance on Arsenio, plus many, many, many TV appearances.

The new album will feature all new material sans "FIXURLIFEUP" which was released earlier this year.

For ticket on sale dates ...lick here!

The tickets will go on sale Friday December 6th at 10 A.M. Eastern time onTicketMaster.com

According to the Mohegan Sun's official site, the ticket prices for each show at the 10,000 seat venue will be $195.00 and $125.00 each.

This will be PRINCE's only appearance on the East Coast and shows will start promptly at 8 P.M. each night.-DocFB

Diagnosis: Starting off 2014 a little early with the party of the year!

heart and now Prince along with Janelle and Esperanza woot!
