I thought it was a great show, no complaints bout the technical problems, his hair, or his suit He played enough hits from Purple Rain, so I think those who went 2 hear that, did hear them. He also played hits where I felt like I was the only person in my section who knew the song, but 2 bad 4 those ppl. I knew all the words 2 every song he sang, I sang most of them w/ him & danced my butt off.

But anyway, I just came on here looking 4 the name of the dancer, does any1 know?

Reports so far sound good. Glad to read he brought the other band members. Look forward to Sunday night's show, but getting ready to head out to CT in a few.

You said nothing about other projects etc.,you said based off twitter feeds & FB members of the NPG are headed to CT..With that said, , outside of 3EG, they are gonna play with one days rehearsal?

And yes I said he keeps his bands well rehearsed,any Prince fan knows that,always has and I'm sure they rehearsed well before this show regardless if it was the same setlist or not.

Managed to watch some videos. Looks like it was a great show! However, I really do hope P hits the road with just 3EG soon. Sometimes it seems Shelby J sings more than P does with the NPG shows. His hair is huge which I actually quite like! (Even if you can see his thinning crown when the light hits him).

If Prince is doing these shows similar to what he did in Montreux, you might get lucky and get a (mainly) 3rdEyeGirl rock show tonight or tomorrow night! You never know ... I wished for the same in Montreux and got it the third night. I was so thrilled!

no, it's not. I just got 4 tix to the saturday show. woo hoo!

I enjoyed the show having not seen Prince since W2A in NYC. Just not into all of those horns. As a whole they sound good but not really into any of them when they solo. None of them are in the same league as Mike Phillips, Maceo, Candy or Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss from back in the day. I could do without Shelby also. Just too over the top and she sings lead way too much of the time. When they stripped it down to 3EG with Cassandra on Keys for Let's Go Crazy Reloaded, that was the high point of the show for me. And of couse hearing Purple Rain with P playing guitar was a fitting ending. Lots of people kept sitting down in my section (24) which was bumming me out. I walked up to the top of sect 25 so I could stand/dance and that's where I met Esperanza Spalding for a moment. What a sweetheart! And where did Damaris Lewis come from? 2 incredibly gorgeous women. All in all a great time. Wish I could go back again tonight or tomorrow. I anticipate a different show each night. Hope some recordings surface!

Um, Phil Lassiter is oineofr the most sought after horn and string arrangers in the game.. they all are very very good horn players woith their own careers

I did not say they are bad. They obviously can all play. Just that none of their solos knocked me out. I call 'em as I heard 'em. There are plenty of horn players out there with their own careers that I would not want to see play with Prince. As for Phil Lassiter, arranging horns and strings does not mean you take great solos.

is the thing, Gouche had an intervciew recently and he stated , we all; play the way Prince wants us to play...So, those horn players are playing as Prince wishes not as they wish

Sorry, such a pointless and superficial tidbit - but I always read a lot of discussion sorrounding his hair and whether or not he's bald/wears a wig.
