Surely it's relative. But the normal context is the common man. Like most of us are. Even if money were less of a problem then mentioning the amount makes still an issue of it's perceived value versus the `goods`.
I pondered flying to Hong Kong back in 2004 for the Harbour Fest but this is a step higher on the ladder. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I think its ok to feel deflated and pissed off. He must have known those tweet pics would have got all our hopes up. If he doesn't play I think thats a pretty cold heated move and yeah I'd feel a bit conned. I still think he'll come over, otherwise why make such a big deal of being in London . . . ?

Dirtyred said: udo said: You paid 2000 quid. And some think I am crazy. To be fair I think that's relative - we don't know his circumstances, if money was not an obstacle would I pay £2000 to see Prince? Hell yeah I would. he 'd better visit the usa for less last april..

But if money wasn't an issue then I wouldn't be complaining. Hell, if money isn't an issue, take some holiday and fly all around the world to see Prince wherever he's playing.

Please check this thread http://prince.org/msg/12/400590 for some good info regarding Prince in London. Prince replied to some questions on twitter regarding England...
P.S. This thread is getting a bit off topic, and it's best to keep all discussion regarding P in London one thread (http://prince.org/msg/12/400590), making it easier for us all to stay updatied on all the news and opinions. I got two sides... and they're both friends.

You should really read the other post, in full and not speak on everyones behalf.
Prince tweeted about not being able to get work Permits in time but will be back, then he deleted the tweets.
I find your post very ignorant and selfish to be honest

Doesn't that say something about his commitment to his fans, his planning, his experience, etc? Now London has to wait a bit more... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Im pretty sure it was meant to give the fans an Unplanned gig, he was in london recording, the commitment to the fans was that he actually tried when it wasnt meant to be happening. I work in events myself, It takes alot of time to actually plan something even a small gig, you have contracts involved with venues, hire of equipment if needed etc... for him to actually touch down and give it a go shows something

It 's not about commitment, it is about quality. If he knew that quality was necessary he would plan a bit more ahead to hav the right papers. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
