prince not playing london

We the British fans feel conned and let down why post pics of London after doing one off gigs in Europe, knowing the papers ran a story about playing UK,surely he would have known it would create speculation about a upcoming gig, according to Dr funkenberry it was to rehearse what nonsense, tease the fans play Europe wind us up and go back home, thanks you really know how to show respect for your fans, and before you jump on my back I paid 2000 pounds to see him play in paradiso, fair play go home but don't wind us up on your way.

....bit presumptious!

Fair enought you might feel conned, and there's probably plenty who agree with you, but don't claim to speak for everyone. smile

Echo what has already been said - your opinion but certainly not mine and probably not most of "we the british fans". Keep the faith, I'm still confident he will play!

Glad to hear, for your sake. It seems ever so slightly overpriced to me, but not sure what Prince charges nowadays.

If you get wound up by a picture posted then it's you that has the issue, not Prince. Can I recommend Landmark Forum. It's a course about taking responsibility for your own reactions and not projecting them onto inanimate objects such as photographs.

I don't feel conned at all. Was hopeful and that is all. Don't presume that everybody feels the same way. He's aloud to come over and do what he wants, he recorded some stuff and went home. Move on. Next.

Okay this is getting bitchy, probably best to lock this thread. All thoughts, news and opinions concerning Prince in London should be posted in this thread http://prince.org/msg/12/400590

I don't feel conned, he never promised us anything. I was hoping he was going to do something, and though it doesn't seem like it now, I'm sure he'll be over sooner or later.

I'm serious. And you seem like a very serious person. Please accept the following help:

From Landmark Education:

A Racket = a fixed way of being + a persistent complaint

Definitions
“A racket is an unproductive way of being or acting that includes a complaint that something
shouldn’t be the way it is.”

Some notes on rackets:

- A human being will trash their life to say “see what you did to me.” Rackets suck the life out of
life.

- In reality the racket has nothing to do with other people specifically (though we often think it
does). That person is simply the latest victim.

- Rackets are often a private conversation in your head.

- With a racket, you setup shop; it is a consistent and recurring experience. Not a one off -
that’s a story. Stories can be equally damaging, even as a single occurrence.
- Rackets come from a limited view of the world/people – everyone’s view is limited, but, really
consider, what’s stopping us from being open to an alternative view?

When we run rackets, we do it for a reason (the payoff for ourselves), and with that we also incur costs to a happier, healthier life...see some examples.
Payoffs (Avoiding Responsibility)

Our crack or heroin – it’s an addiction

Being right/Someone else being wrong
To dominate/Avoid domination
Self-justify/Invalidate others
I Win/You Lose

Costs (Aliveness)
What we lose and strive for in life

Love/Affinity
Self-expression
Vitality/Well-being
Satisfaction/Happiness

hope this helps

£2000 to go from UK to Netherlands and see Prince play? I'm off on a 2 week holiday to Florida soon and it's just about cost me that much. Do you fly first class and stay in 5 star hotels?

perhaps it was just a tweet test

now they realize they can tweet something about a show or whatever and reach more people than this website does and more than funkenberry does

and if he does play London - people will be a little more ready now so maybe it was just a heads up

To be fair I think that's relative - we don't know his circumstances, if money was not an obstacle would I pay £2000 to see Prince? Hell yeah I would.
