I would actually LOVE it if Prince, in his twisted sense of humour, BOOTED the tribute band off the roster and came on with 3rdEyGirl. Obviously, I would love it even more if he announced it beforehand... The Camden Jazz Cafe has a nice ring to it, especially for a full-on rocking set, guitars amped on full.

Can you imagine the casual audience's reaction IF P did do just that at the Camden Jazz Cafe unannounced, kicking the tribute band off stage...JAWS WOULD DROP!!! It might make a headline or two. Tis a good story.

I remember seeing him do that to Beverley Knight after one of the o2 shows. Was amazing.

The Jazz Cafe seems like a well established venue (not been there myself) and have had some quite big names there, saw De La Soul and some others on their website... But stop. Shh. It ain't happening.

Well it's definitely strange how he's booked rehearsal space in London. You'd think with the sheer amount of shows he's done with 3rdEyeGirl recently he wouldn't need to rehearse for a one off impromptu show. This leads me to believe he's planning sometings a little bigger, like a mini residency, multiple night thing. Seeing as this would be his first show in the UK since 2007 he might feel the need to bring a more hit filled setlist, hence the need to rehearse. Just my thoughts.

I'm keeping a very close eye on this: for instance, IF we're talking Shepherd's Bush Empire, the only 2 gigs listed between now and the end of August are Hawkwind on the 24th & Plan B on the 29th.

Seems very sensible. It's just after Portugal last week it seems like he could do/announce anything with a moments notice. Wasn't keeping an eye on the board but was Portugal as 'random' as it seemed? Or were there rumblings for a while? Don't remember Dr. Funkenberry talking about it before it happened.

Well, he's not confined to time, is he?

So, he could do maybe two or three venues.


Well, for me it all depend on if I can stay at my friends place.

What's the capacity of Shepherds Bush Empire? Prince does actually really love London, for some reason. All early signs are pointing towards ONE thing: we are about to get seriously FUNKED.

Yeah, especially after he was spotted backstage there at the Kings Of Leon show a week back. Sounds to me like he was checking the place out. I've followed the venue on twitter just in case they hint at something.

Dear Lord that would be just PERFECT! I live near Liverpool, and my biggest fear is either missing out on tickets or not having enough time to sort out the journey down to London. This would be my first time seeing Prince, and the chance to see one of his legendary aftershows as well would just be the icing on the cake.

Following this thread very carefully! I'm actually in London for work tomorrow so who knows, I might get lucky! I'll certainly do my best to travel (from the south west) to any shows that get announced.

Well we didn't get any tweets from 3rdEyeGirl before the Amsterdam show, so it seems like he's hyping this a little more. Plus, as people said before, he wouldn't need to rehearse if he was just going to do a standard 3rdEyeGirl set.

....as long as we get 24 hours notice (although preferably more!) and I can get a ticket I'll be heading down from Glasgow...

Don't forget he did a full 'hits' show at Hop Farm in 2011. I'm hoping for at least a couple of nights, so I can get my plans together

Because I saw both shows in Paradiso, I would prefer a different line up.
