DN does not like guitar solos either: http://www.dn.se/kultur-n...-hitparad/ "From heavy rock chock to hit parade".

The rock part was the best!! The band was so tight and prince was def on fire. His solos were insanely good.
I really like prince playing with 3EG. Only prince singing and talking. I do love horns but I'd rather have prince rocking out on his guitar and playing the keyboard. [Edited 8/5/13 1:13am]

I think this was one of the best Prince concerts I have ever been to. There was a certain amount of intimacy in such a small venue (outdoors), and Prince was in a great mood, joking and starting off sing-alongs. The chant "Oooooh, Stockholm!" was repeated throughout the concert. I was also surprised at the lack of religious talk, instead he foucsed on the healing power of music.
Just to complain a bit, like we Swedes are prone to do, we had to wait over an hour for Prince, even though he reportedly was backstage for hours. The stage was rigged for over an hour, and just whe the show was about to start, someone in the crew accidentally(?) set off a confetti canon. The canon had to ba taken off-stage an reset. Then some guy with a lot of bling (we was also seen rapping and on percussion later in the how) came on stage with a laptop with a webcam, so Prince could see the audience. Then Hannah came on stage, asking people not to take pictures. Then time passed... People were pissed off, that was clear. It was hot and we were standing on cubblestones for hours. Someone speculated that he was waiting for darkness, which is kind of odd in the night of the midnight sun. Anyway, it got a bit darker, and at 21:30 it was time.
Everything was forgotten when Prince and the band exploded on stage with "Let's Go Crazy"! Fantastic opener! I've hard complaints about the band not being tight, but. They. Were. Tight. Fantastic musicians everyone of them! Some of the newer songs were not familiar to the 35+ audience, but he still managed to get his groove on, stirring people up with handclaps and chants. I was pleasantly surprised to hear and participate in the chant of "Eye like it there".
There were three(!) encores, and the show just kept getting better and better. I was happy to hear "She's Always in My Hair", I thought that was perhaps the highlight of the concert, that and "The Max". The part at the sampler was mindblowing!
All in all, that was 2.5 hours well spent, but unfortunately the delay caused me to miss the train and I had to spend 3.5 hours on weird buses to get back home. But that was OK! [Edited 8/5/13 2:16am]

3rd Eye TV broadcast some stuff on Livestream from Stockholm this morning.
Concert video of FixUrLifeUp, Let's Go Crazy and Endorphinmachine.
And then there was a piano instrumental, probably live from Grand Hotel as Prince was wearing the same jacket he had at Café Opera earlier.

Was he wearing a black watch?
- E-mail - orgNote - ![]() |
No, he comes in at the end of the video, and you see him clearly when he moves the camera to point at the laptop. Someone mentioned that the other one (with the black watch) is Josh, Hannah Ford's husband.

He really doesn't do much of that - and hasn't in a lot of years. Not sure where people get that idea. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I'd say he looks around, say ...55
No joke, let's stop all this he looks young, he looks old thing.
Dude is 55 and stays up til the early hours, gets by on little sleep. Wears make-up, has stylists and hairdressers (I presume?).
He looks exactly as you'd expect Prince to look at 55 IMHO. Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.
