25th Anniversary of Paard van Troje August 18, 1988

To celebrate this anniversary, give your favorite line of banter (by Prince or anyone else) during this show.

Mine:

"Do you want it low, or do you want it high?"

Every now and then
There comes a time you must defend
Your right to die and live again --
And again, and again...

Yeah, that was a funny one. The bootlegs were even played on Dutch radio back then. It kept the Prince hype alive as much as his albums did. And it made Prince fans into nervous wrecks every time he toured. Ahoy, Wembley, Bercy, yeah, that's all very nice, but where's the AFTERSHOW? excited headache nuts

You don't!

Everything I love about Prince is in that guitar solo (Just My Imagination). Words wouldn't do it justice.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Now where's that double BluRay of this historic event?

Mr Prince really passed on this milestone in his career.

He never ever monetised this at all.

(do you remember him selling or offering in any other way tracks from thjis date?)

In that time, there was not as much ‘available‘ as is in this era, no digital supply et cetera. Pure first pressings, some vinyl and lots of tapes and copies and copies. This was one of the purest registrations (IMO), of course the fact that it was here, in Holland, makes it worthy.
I used to listen to this one almost daily, Small Club 2nd Show That Night.
