Setlist for Vancouver shows

Hi, does anybody have the set-list for the shows Prince played in Vancouver last night. Read some reviews and looks like the show was light on hits and fans were charged $275 for the priviledge of hearing new music. Looks like there was no Purple Rain, 1999 etc which personally I would enjoy but I have seen Prince on multiple occasions. It seems a steep price for the average fan.

anyway if anyone went to the show or if anyone knows if the late show is different to the early show i would be obiliged.

thx

Higher ticket for more intense fans = lesser-performed songs. I have seen him play purple rain so many times before. I want to hear the deep and new tracks!

I'd rather not see 'the hits' anymore either but if I were paying $275 for the tickets I'd want to know prior tot he performance that it was going to be new material rather than his established sets.

The setlist (which I have not seen yet but have read some online reviews) sounds more like an afterparty show rather than a regualr Prince set.

I paid £50 to watch an 02 performance that included the hit and then the aftershow party that was an awesome jam for the best part of 3 hours.

I'm guessing that no-one has the set-list as it isn't even on the internet yet.

A [Tentative]Setlist
I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man
FixUrLifeUp
Screwdriver
She's Always In My Hair
Guitar
I Like It There
2 Young 2 Die
Cause And Effect
Bambi
Let's Go Crazy (revamped)
Boom - Stratus

Having read several reviews of the show now, the bottom line is: lots of long drawn out jams of new songs or heavily re-worked old tunes. 90 minute show for $275 leaves bad taste with people. (considering Prince's long history of 2-3 hour shows) Add to that the fact that they were doing 2for1 deals on tickets. People like us who jumped at buying tickets when they first went on sale are not too happy.

some of my relatives went yesterday. some had paid $275 for tickets and some had paid $5 for 2 tickets on some type of promotion.

this is another classic case of Prince alienating his fan base. If the tour was advertised as new material and long jams then people could have made an informed decison. To pay so much money when he won't be playing his customary set is absurd especially after the phenomenal reviews he got for SXSW

Being that it's small venues, small band, along with his performance on Jimmy Fallon, the content of the show is exactly what I would expect. (and am looking forward to!)

The two things that bother me are the shortness of the show (some have said there was as little as 80-90 minutes of music) and the outrageous ticket prices that early buyers had to pay. If it weren't general admission, the early buyers would have at least gotten the best seats, but that's not the case. Some poor shmuck paid $275 and was standing next to a guy who paid $50. That's f'd up.

Hmm...princevault has preliminary set lists posted for the two shows last night and they are identical except for the final encore song. Sure hope not too many people paid $550 to see both shows.

.... yeah that's rather unexpected IMHO, I would have expected to be more aftershow like with different sets every time

That's f'd up. Depends on what you want. I went to 6 Welcome 2 America shows, and each one was less than two hours. Shelby or someone else sang lead for a few numbers each night, and if Mountains was played, Prince mumbled a line or two quietly while the girls sang. So maybe an hour or less of Prince singing for most of them. This new band doesn't have that issue, as Prince is singing most of the songs, and the arrangements are much tighter, as W2A had watered down grooves where multiple songs sounded alike....Yes, I'd complain a little about the shortness of the shows, but based on the Dakota bootlegs, and the advertisement of two shows, at least we sort of know what to expect. With W2A, He played long shows in some cities, and short ones in others. And Shelby dominated and played crowd flunky too much for my tastes, so I'd rather have this tour than the last...Only Problem? I probably can't afford it anymore...but that's one thing I can't really blame Prince for.

I saw all 4 and paid full price. It was so worth it!! these shows are the real deal. So much better than his regular big stadium shows, playing the hits. This was a guitar frenzy of complete awesomeness! I could see that same set over and over 50 times. It was so amazing! Vancouver is a dead city and it was Monday/Tuesday night so late shows did not sell, but Seattle sold out for Friday. I could not care less if unsold tix went for half price later. What a bunch of crybabies. Seriously, these shows are it. You don't have to wait all night to see him do one guitar solo....or wait for the aftershow to see him play half an hour of wickedness. You get it for the whole show!!! Second set he played Dreamer. Second night he pulled out "Ilove the night life baby" Crimson and Clover" Sign'O' the times " U got the look" She is always in my Hair is so good and Bambi shreds big time every show. Endorphine Machine!!!

Everyone I know who saw the first show immediately tried to get tix for the second. It's that good folks!!

He is playing the basic core of the show every night. But he mixed the order up a bit second night. There is some song written by Donna that is a smoking instrumental. They seem to do "When we're dancing close and slow" into Bambi every show. But man is it ever killer!! The "I like it there" mega jam is off the hook!! Second night, second set "Crimson and Clover jam" was super long and absolutely amazing. Do not go expecting the standard hits. And quite frankly if that is all you want, I would not call you a real fan. Some of us know he is one of the best guitar player to ever walk the planet. Finally he shows it. ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

Also see my other response to some negative post about ticket prices and seeing the same show. It does not matter one iota.

this is not the right order

Missing Endorphine Machine and many others.

Also, no bad taste was left in anyone's mouth except for some losers who did not get it.

Please don't think I'm a hater. I'm super excited to see the show(s). I'm going to a show in Anaheim as well as a late show in San Diego. REALLY looking forward to it! The price wasn't easy for me to handle, so hearing tickets for these shows are now heaviliy discounted hurt a bit that's the only thing really bothering me.

He has no idea how the economy really is. He can't manage his own money very well, he has no idea that putting tickets on sale far in advance is a great way to get shows to sell out. He's got a hell of a show that deserves to sell out, but he has fumbled and bumbled his way to discounting tickets at the last minute....which pisses the hell out of anyone who paid $275 or whatever.
