Prince at the Vogue in Vancouver four shows

I never thought Prince would perform in such an intimate venue in my home town. Tickets are not priced for the faint of heart, ($275 each) but I trust that it's all going to be worth it because it's Freakin' PRINCE! So if you haven't heard, four shows, April 15th and 16th, not at a massive huge stadium where you might be miles away from Himself, but at the Vogue Theater on Granville. One early and one late show that starts at 11:30, on both nights. They just announced they are releasing tickets at Will Call starting today, so I went to pick up my tickets to avoid chaos on Monday. When I talked to the guy there, they said they just tried it (two shows in one night) with another performer last Saturday and turned the venue over no problem in time for the next show. There are, surprisingly, still tickets available. Hope to see some of you there!

Got that email today - "We have received approval from Price and his management to begin releasing will call tickets" Love it!

So excited! Did they say any specifics about how many tickets are left? My guess is there are quite a bit of tickets left for all 4 shows.

The guy that helped me (who was cool, because he let me change my tickets from the early show to the late show), said that they are about half sold out. People in Vancouver are very last minute though; a week is a long time here in show business. All the pot smoking and rainy weather slows everyone down! biggrin

It kind of sucks by I guess that's what you gotta deal with if you want to ensure you get tickets!!!

I was able to get another ticket to the third show for $142.50!!

Well it's great for people who couldn't afford full price, but it sucks for people that paid full price...

Reminds me of airline ticks.. I bought a flight to Vegas for the shows, waited watched prices and when it was cheap'ish bought it.. Two days later it went even lower, like $80! Grrrr lol

Now I bought on orbitz.com and they have price assurance which I heard Never works right.. Someone has to book the same flight, same day, same time and airline code and if cheaper u get 110% of the difference in a voucher towards ur next trip...

In anycase 3 days later an email informed me I will have $86 in voucher available after completion of my Vegas trip!!

I'm getting sidetracked but it would b nice if prince. Shows had price assurance hahha ;p

If similar price reductions occur in other cities, there will be a lot of people who feel the same way! Especially the would-be scalpers stuck with unsold tickets--at least then they would get SOME money!

First come, first served! Legendary singer-songwriter Prince has donated hundreds of tickets to his Monday and Tuesday night shows in Vancouver, with proceeds benefiting a local charity.

The 200 tickets are up for grabs tonight at Save On Meats, according to the diner’s Facebook page, and will sell for a minimum of $50 per ticket.

The full-price tickets for each of Prince’s four scheduled Vancouver tour dates are $275 after taxes and service charges.

The money raised through the charity tickets will go to the Better Life Foundation, an organization that was taken over by Meats owner Mark Brand and has a goal of delivering 1,000 meals to in-need Vancouverites every day.

Also: If you paid full price for a ticket earlier, they are currently selling tickets for $5 to the late show tonight and tomorrow per ticket purchased at full price.

Well, if you can't fill the hall by SELLING tickets, you can always give them away...

Well... in my estimation, it's essentially selling them as two tickets for 275 rather than giving them away. Considering the promotion the other day was 2 for 1 PLUS a donation for some non-profit, the distribution of these tickets for $5 for the nonprofit is basically just an extension of that promotion.

Holly cow Prince does have a Price Assurance better than Orbitz after all !! lol lol lol
