Thanks for the info. So they did not play the entire new CD....just a couple of new tracks rights?

The only track with female voice we have is Live Out Loud.

So if memory is serving me correctly, then I think there were two tracks that the DJ played I had not heard before. There was one with a Prince vocal with the lyrics I thought I could make out. And then I could've sworn that there was another song played with the female vocal. But I feel like that was dropped in the set without a separate "He's another new track" announcement, but what caught my ear is that the levels seemed similar to "Live Out Loud" and "FIXURLIFEUP" when they were being played .

But no, the entire album wasn't played. Maybe 4-5 tracks total.

I talked to a few people who were pretty disappointed that Prince didn't play or that he didn't stay long.

My guess is this is probably due in part to hyped up promotion. I didn't hear any radio spots about the show, but I think people were mislead that the possibility of performance was high. Some guy approached me and asked if I felt cheated having paid $40 to not see him play. I thought 2 things.

1) I paid 25.

2) Did he honestly expect it to happen.

And that's really what it boiled down to I feel. There was a sincere expectation that he was going to play.

Then again, these are probably casual fans who aside from liking some really interesting hits aren't really in the know with regards to how he can act in those types of situations.

But also I think people were just disappointed because I think even if there wasn't going to be a Prince live performance, that they would be partying all night at a Prince event. To quote Dr. F:

New music from the newly mixed FULL-LENGTH CD "PLECTRUM ELECTRUM" (working title) will be showcased all night long!

PRINCE is expected to make a brief appearance but 3RDEYEGIRL along with DJ Rashida will be keeping the party jumping til there ain't one!

I'm not saying that Dr. F was wrong per se as he may have been receiving information from within the camp that the event would go as such, but new music was not showcased all night long, I think 3rd Eye Girl left during Rashida's set, and somebody else can correct me on this, but DJ Rashida maybe had a two hour set at most? And The Prince crew was out of the building waaaaay before last call.

I'm not complaining. I enjoyed myself and had a great time. But I think for the casual fan who might have had high hopes, it was a bummer.
