What was the earliest time for line up for each show? How do you get the wristbands for the front row access?

First show, I was there at 4:30 pm and there were about 30 people in front of me. For the 2nd show, I had reentry dibs (special line). For the 3rd show, I got there at 3:30pm and there was about 20 people in front of me.

About half an hour before they let us in for each show, Josh came outside and started talking to people and discretely handing out wrist bands. Find his photo - know his face! I had to sing to him a couple of times to get him to give me wrist bands. Just show how devoted you are! And of course, tell him you love his wife. 'Cause Hannah really is amazing.

Thanks for the info! I have tickets for Anaheim early & Late show on the 8th, but was getting second thoughts of my choice of nights when I heard you had to leave the first show and stand in line a second time. Is the re-entry line able to go in first? How does that work? Getting ready to sing a song to Josh!!LOL!

Our venue did give those who had the reentry wrist bands first dibs! So just make sure to leave the venue and ask for a wrist band so you can get your ass out to the reentry line. If the venue does it the same way at least!

Ok.... now that my ears only only moderately ringing and I can' finally see clearly, let me drop a few things:

1) WIth regards to the re-entry wristbands: the process was simple enough, but it isn't facilitated by Prince's crew. The house here was in charge of handing them out as you left the entrance here. So when I walked towards the exist, I looked for one of the house employees near the door who had a headset and some wristbands in his hand. I think he was still receiving direction as to how to go about doing it, but I showed him my ticket to the next show and showed him my ticket. He turned and asked somebody else whether or not he was supposed to scan my ticket or just give out my pass. He gave me the wristband and directed me outside to another line that snaked in from the opposite direction from where the other line was. It begane behind a velvet rope. Then a few minutes before door open, they let you back in first.

2) To describe the wristbands as "front row" is a bit of a misnomer. Here's a different take.

At this venue, there was a decent sized open area in the auditorium, but there were also installed house seats too. What happened in the open area is there was a barricade put up that cuts off a bit of tha space on the floor. I would say that maybe 10-15 feet in front of the stage was sectioned off by this barricade. Behind the barricade there was still an ok amount of space up until you entered the seating area. Even if if you got a pass, it did not necessarily mean you would be right up at the front of the stage, but you would still be extremely close. Nonewhat and some of the other Orgers were right up on the stage itself. And for much of the night, we were inches away. When he would guitar solo, there were times were I could have easily touched the guy because he RIGHT IN MY FACE. But the crowds here in Vancouver for most of the show who happened to be in the pit were pretty amiable so there didn't seem to be a lot of elbowing or pressing for better positioning.

3) Josh has responded to both overt displays of fandom to just simple recognition of him. The first pass I got from him, I noticed him walking. Nobody knew who he was, and I just casually said, "Josh, right?" He looked at me and was like, "Uh, yeah. Hey what's up." I just asked him what he was doing out and we exchanged maybe a a sentence or two and walked towards the end of the line. Nonewhat had given me the heads up with him, so I kind of figured I wasn't going to get a wristband from him. But a few minutes later, he walked up along side me and just casually asked how many people I was there with. I said it was just me, and he gave me the wristband and explained the process to me. It was pretty cool. The other wristbands came from similar exchanges.

4) The wristbands at this show were not tour specific. They aren't maked PRINCE or LOL. These are from the house. They seem like generic wristbands used for in and outs to any event.

It's cool that Josh is giving out wristbands, but it seems to me that a general admission show should be first come first served. I'll be at the early show in Denver on 5/12 and planned on getting there early to get toward the front of the line and, hopefully, right next to the stage. It sounds like that may not happen unless I happen to get deemed worthy by Josh. Fortunatley, The Ogden in Denver is super small. So, it'll be a good vantage point no matter where I end up. Maybe they just did the wristband thing in Vancouver. I guess we'll find out how the other shows go. I'm done bithching now. Can't wait for the Denver show. The setlist has me super excited for what I'm going to witness in a few weeks!

He plays cowbell behind her during Bambi giving us some Questlove/Jimmy Fallon realness, and I think I saw him playing ride cymbal during the 2nd set on the first night at some point in time.

If it's any consolation, from what I understood he gave a decent amount of bands to people who were there near the front of the line who were waiting for hours to get in. So there is always that. And having been at the front of lines for shows before, we all know there is still no way of garunteeing a spot at the front. Especially after having bags checked and patdowns or whatever, it can always be a gamble. But TRUST ME, I absolutely dig what you're saying. But understand that Josh is pretty capricious about the tickets, and he seems to be really impartial. And also, it can be quite nice for those who can't afford both a 275 dollar ticket and the time get of off of work to sit at the front of a line for hours.

For the second show, I don't remember everything but....HE FUCKING PLAYED THE WORK AND U GOT THE LOOK.

AND HE POINTED AT ME AND SANG "YOU GOT THE LOOK!". He crowd surfed. I touched his ass, his shoe, his hand, and his guitar. He pulled a woman up on stage, let her dance, hug, and kiss him on the cheek. Who ever Prince has turned into, I FUCKING LOVE HIM EVEN MORE.

I'm so tired. And I hate doing reviews because my mind can't keep a train of thought to be able to make a paragraph that makes sense. But let me just tell you. The shows tonight were fucking amazing. So amazing that... I was thinking about getting a very small love symbol tattood on me. I'm not thinking anymore. I AM DOING.

I LOVE YOU P biggrin

And Hannah's husband Joshua for giving me wrist bands for front row access for 3 of the 4 shows I attended.

How Disrespectful

How ridiculous is it that people think purchasing a ticket to a concert entitles them to inappropriately invade a persons personal space. It is disrespectful and body surfing is not an invitation to inappropriate touching of another human beings body. Nuff said.

While it's nice for those that can afford 2 shows in one night to have re-enty wristbands, I think it is a little unfair for those people to be let into the 2nd show before those people that can only afford to go to the late show and have probably been standing in line outside the whole time the 1st show was going on! I know I would be a little upset about that!

Before you chastise her, perhaps consider that crowd surfing does in fact involve supporting a persons weight.... with hands. The contact may have been incidental. Just saying.

I know what body surfing involves and it is obvious from her posting it was not incidental. A person can easily be supported without improper touching. Nuff said.

Prince sure knows what comes along with body surfing. Not to mention, the more hands the safer he'll be.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I think P's crowd surfing was unintentional. I'm sure he just wanted to do the "lean back into the crowd, then be pushed back on stage" bit he had just done on the other side of the stage. But those up front fans are crazy! I was amazed that he let the crowd carry him away, and there were no bodyguards bursting through the pit.

It was intentional. He remarked that the first side didn't get it right. And when he was in the air, he was calling directions. I specifically heard him say and point to the left which was not in the direction of the stage.

That's what I'm saying: he has been really opening up. These shows were special.

That's how I got my first wrist band .. I saw him between the 2 shows the first night and said "hey, was that you on cowbell during Bambi?" And for my powers of observation was rewarded with an "up front wrist band"!

Besides being on cowbell for Bambi for the 4 shows, he did "play" ride on "Too Young To Dare" (I think) at the first show/night 2, and came out to sing with Prince on "2YTD" at the last show.

And as someong else mentioned, I felt sorry for him by show 4, when everyone realized he was "the guy to see" and he needed security to walk through the venue.

I appreciate the fact that you find what I did was disrespectful. There are many things I find disrepectful in this world as well.

But I did what I did - And so did Prince. Did you know he kicked his guitar stand at a fan who was right in front of me? That's disrespectful. Are you going to hate on him for that? Probably not.

The crowd surfing had to be intentional because on my side, we didn't pull him away from the stage and then he went and said something like "what i'm not that heavy" and then he went to the other side. The other side took the hint and brought him out. As Guybros stated, he pointed which direction he wanted to go and the fans brought him in those directions.

If he didn't like it, he would have let us know. He was a very open Prince last night!

I thought I had mentioned this above but maybe not... He took a rose and a ticket stub from two different fans on different sides of the stage, put both items in his mouth, and gave them back to the owners of the items. SINCE WHEN DOES HE DO THAT?! He shook hands, he gave his guitar to the crowd to touch...

I don't know. All signs are pointing to "he was happy and having a good time" just like the fans were.
