It's K Nicola Dyes, once more. A new review of Bobby Z's Benefit 2 Celebrate Life has been posted on my blog, "Dyes Got the Answers 2 Ur ?s." The show featured Princess, with Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum, Andre Cymone, Dez Dickerson, Dr. Fink, Bobby Z, Alexander O'Neal, ?uestlove and many others, that took place at historic First Avenue March 9

My blog is affiliated with the Beautiful Nights Facebook group and the founder, Marcus Scott, knows Jill. He set up that interview. I met Gayle through Morris Mills, whom I interviewed for a previous story. I visited her home in Idaho for that one.

OIC, i met marcus in london at 21 nights as he was with bobby who i've met a few times at paisley. i had heard of marcus too but didn't meet him when i was in chitown

It was a whirlwind night for me. I met and took pix with Bobby Z, Dr. Fink, and Andre Cymone. All very nice guys. I thought my wife was going to jump Andre. She thought he was hot. I met Tyka Nelson and her husband. Tyka is absolutely adorable and the sweetest woman I've ever met. I met Marcus Scott and he's a great guy. Also spoke to him again the next night at Bunkers where Bobby Z and Dr. Fink got on stage to play Purple Rain with the Combo.

I've seen other reviews around here and online about the set lists and so forth so I won't go into that but it was a magical show us fans (or fams). I had VIP tix so I was able to witness the crazy awesome sound check (all over Youtube now). I'm still overwhelmed by the memories of that night. Truely incredible.
