Any confirmation on a second LA show this week?

I heard from two sources that he was supposed to do a second gig here in LA but no confirmation on the exact location, date and whether tickets would be sold or if it would be another hollywood VIP only thing like Sayers.

Thanks in advance!

According to what's noted in Drfunkenberry's detailed review of the Sayers club private show on 10/23, he claims there's another private show tonight (10/25). See bottom of article.

Review: PRINCE & Andy Allo Make The “Housequake” At The Sayers Club

Prince performed along with Andy Allo at the Sayers Club on Tuesday night for a crowd just over 200 in Hollywood.

After seeing Prince perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live, I headed over to The Sayers Club where I met Damaris Lewis, the model and guest dancer for Prince on his latest tour and we did a quick interview.

You had to check your cellphones at the door, so I knew that meant no tweeting of songs performed while they were happening like I have done in the past before writing a full review.

I strike up a conversation with Hannah Ford, Prince's guest drummer, and her husband Josh and talk about the experience she has had since joining the NPG. Through the night I talk with Elissa Fiorilo-Deese, Ida, and John Blackwell, the coolest people for sure.

It is around 12:20 when Andy Allo and her band enter with the horns playing as the entered stage left.

It's time to occupy them.

I got to occupy them. i got to occupy several of them up close and personal when they attempted to make me part like the red sea. I wasn't moving.

I got in through a PR rep to write it up for our zine. And it was probably the coolest thing I've ever gotten invited to cover among many cool things.

It was the 11-piece horn section, Blackwell, Ida (I think), Mike Scott, Morris hayes, and several other players whose names I didn't catch. Oh and Andre Cymone

And I didn't catch the title of the very last one.

I know some people will see that and go "ah same old set list."

But MAN was it good. Some really super fine chicken scratch guitar playing tonight, he was more into tasty rhythm parts than wailing, though there were moments of cutting loose. The band was super tight and he was playing them like a drum, lots of "horns on the one!" commands. He went over & chose horn players to solo seemingly spontaneously, and every one of them rose to the task. I've seen him about 10 times since 97 and never heard him or his band play better. Plus... Andre Cymone. I forgot I'd read about him jumping up there again, and spent the tune going "who is that dude playing that incredible guitar and singing lead on this?"

The horns sounded just so amazing in that small room, just yards away from me. REALLY impressed.

As for the club, it is a 1% kind of place - bottle service for tables right in front of the stage. I don't know how you get invited to those things if you're not with press. Maybe rich people have their own ticketmaster that books shows for people with memberships in societies that cost $1Million to join? Who knows. I felt like an infiltrator in my cheap suit.

Many of them were right into it, dancing and partying though a number of them just chatted through it and wondered out loud if there was smething cooler going on the street. They sure are pushy too. And that club is not the best place to see a band when it's crowded and people are standing, I had a hard time keeping P in view for a good amount of it. And I'm tall! The stage is only a few feet off the ground and from behind the bottle service couches, you have to peer through heads.

But I didn't let any of it get to me. The sound was amazing and I saw one of the best Prince shows I've ever seen from what would have been 5th row in a theater. It was on the short side, maybe 90 minutes, but it was enough to satisfy.

No b00tz yet.

And what does the $835 say about future ticket pricing?

I see inflation.

How can I hedge for that?

For the next show, for $835, people will complain he wasn't there and/or that they didn't do the song at all.

Other people might not even know the song...

The horn section was just awesome. THey were doing synch dancing behind Andi Allo for the first song. After that they had to crowd around at the side. Sometimes Prince would hold out to his mic for one of them to solo, sometimes one would come on stage.

Yeah he should hang onto this for a minute there. DMSR with the horns doing that intro melody was superb.

Andre Cymone and Prince on the same stage!!! I gotta find some video!

How was it? Did they mesh well? Was Andre's mic turned down in the mix so you couldn't hear him? Was it great? Was it bad?

I dug it a LOT. His mic was on! And the guitar playing was super funky. I didn't recognize him, he looks very different, short hair and shades. IIRC Prince sang the opening verses and Andre took the last couple.

I really hope it turns out that someone WAS stealthy enough to record some of that show. At a place where they confiscate cellphones & cameras at the door, I suspect the bouncers are looking for little LED screens inside. It was weird to be at a gig and watch the stage without a sea of LED screens in the way!

[Just curious did you see P interact with Andy a lot.]

She was playing guitar with NPG on some of his songs and he was getting down with everybody at different points. It was a tiny stage.

During her song People Pleaser he stayed at the back of the stage playing guitar. I was expecting an entire set from her, so was surprised when he stepped up to the mic for the 2nd song.

It was such a big jam, people coming on and off all night. Some guy stepped up to play bass on the last two songs, Shop Talk and ??? Big dude with one of those basses that had a six-inch wide neck. I forgot to ask who that was.
