I posted this over on the other thread but thought i would post it here too....

Prince is playing a secret show after the Jimmy Kimmel performance at the Sayers Club in Hollywood. This is a venue that Prince jams at mostly everytime hes in LA, and it is ultra exclusive and hard to get into. It holds approx 200 people and is a great place to see live performances as they get major artists in there almost every week to jam.

They are keeping this show low key as they do not let many people in. I found out from a friend of mine that works at the venue, thats how I know. I am not in LA this week or i would be there...

There are two concerts scheduled....

Andy & the NPG are performing on the indoor stage at 4:30 and the Prince is playing on the outdoor stage at 6:45...

They are two separate shows & two different tickets...

The website suggest arriving 45minutes early... But I'll be ther 2 hours early.

For “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Tuesday, Prince will have a new drummer, Hannah Ford. Well, she’s actually being billed as a guest drummer. They’re scheduled to play the new tune “Rock ‘n’ Roll Love Affair.”

Um, don’t read anything into it. Ford, a veteran singer/jazz drummer from Chicago, is married toJoshua Welton and has worked with Wynton Marsalis and Louie Bellson, among others.

We’ll have to tune in to see if Ford is truly an additional drummer and if longtime New Power Generation drummer John Blackwell is still involved, as well.

Do you know if it's open to the public or do you have to have a wristband, etc to get in?

Got a few friends there.. he started with RNR Affair, now the Dance Electric.

But P's concert doesn't air til 11c right?

Posted setlist on the other thread but...here are some deets...

Apparently Andy performed People Pleaser and If I was King with Maceo and it killed! They of course had to bring in peeps from the audience to fill in some of the area. This performance will air in Dec!

As of 6:45 were still in soundcheck

Sidenote: he's wearing pimp glasses and walking with that glass pimp cane!

According to Dr. Funkenberry he just performed R n R Affair (with Andy, NPG, Hannah Ford) and is now performing Dance Electric (with Damaris)

Now performing Take Me With U (likely with Andy, not sure though) as an encore

Prince is apparently pissed about having some guitar issues....

Shows like this are weird, but Prince killed it. It's hard for him to capture an audience when they have cameras & "hype men" warming up the crowd & odd commercial breaks in between songs, etc.

Prince played RnR Love Affair & Dance Electric with full 11 piece horn section... Then came back, & had some major guitar issues... Was tuning the Horner while Andy sang Take Me With U all by herself. He then picked up Andy's acoustic, but that didn't seem to be working for him... So he improvised & just jammed from there...

All in all a pretty enjoyable set... Not UR typical Prince concert, but C.O.O.L.
