Has anyone anykind of update/information on what was the outcome of the cancelled July 23r, 2010 concert in Geneva??

I am wondering if this is just a lost case... or if there is any hope of concert goers getting reimbursed.... Prince never made a public statement about the situation..... he coveniently forgot/ignored the fact....... ????

Well, no.

There was a court case in the making for ticketholders to get their money back but that did fall through.

To me it's still a bit shady.

The ticket firm, Resaplus, has gone bankrupt. (see
http://prince.org/msg/12/341060 for some pics)

Then there's discussion about the status of the concert: was it cancelled or postponed?

There was a momorandum of understanding with Prince for him to perform for 1.5 M USD. He wasn't paid.

Then there's Daniel Quarcoopome, the 'local' producer of the concert. Did he embezzle funds? (Larger Than Live-SA, Rue du Rhône 59, 1204 Genève CH)

There was 'misunderstanding' between Daniel Q. and mister Hohl about the rent for the Stade de Genève.

See this thread for all (old) developments. It's in French but you will manage.

The more recent pages discuss the situations w.r.t. sueing anybody or not.

At this point in time nobody has gone to jail or even to court. (!!)

It looks like mr P chose an unknown, cheap, thus sloppy local producer. The producer did a bad job. The money went to the wrong places. Resaplus could not repay the tickets because part of the money had already been passed on.

If anybody has some more details: please post!

BTW: http://www.rts.ch/info/su...ponge.html

Resaplus paid advances of close to 700,000.- Swiss francs to promotor Daniel Quarcoopome for which he could organise the concert with Prince.

I called Visa and they said to see with my local bank, so I went there (in July 2011), they took it very seriously and searched for the accurate information and ended-up telling me that... I was fucked.

I lost that money. Forever.

I am in the same situation but would at least like to know more about the details of the case.

What about this Quarcoopome person?

Who has the cash?

What was done by the authorities?

What was the outcome of that?

As said once here by another orger, someone named Quarccoopome can come only from one place: Jabba's palace. That's probably where he went back after that shit and he must be drinkin' with Bobba Fett as we write sad

I went through the whole procedure and the only result is that I have to pay a bill to the State of Geneva for admin fees.

What happened is that the State of Geneve pressed charges against Mr. Q. for crookery. Unfortunately, the judge found him to "a bit naive", but in no way dishonest. Also, as far as the written record of the trial testifies, Prince has not sued him for breaching their agreement.

After the trial in the criminal court, the only option left was to sue Mr. Q for debts, individually, through a civil procedure.

Which also proved to be a dead end: "Larger than life" (what a joke), the society that Mr. Q. had especially created for this very special event, had gone bankrupted . There was no money left.

All this ended with people having to pay administration fees on top of not getting their money back. The administration did not agree to cancel those bills.

This is what I would call a good example of mastery in mass robbery.

And no, I don't believe for one minute that Mr. Q was naive.

Actually, maybe the judge was...

I think mr P is at least partly at fault in this case for selecting a cheap unknown local promotor instead of a less cheap known promotor.

This very detail determines the outcome.
