I wish I could've gone to the 25th show, that was the performance I wanted.

I was there for the 24th Chicago show, I had fun but I wanted guitar, just more Prince.

I am totally pissed about the after-party at the HOB, but... I'll give him another chance.

Detroit can't afford him. The state is broke and noone has a job. $150.00 a ticket is tough right now for Detroit and you know Prince will stick it to them with the prices. I think he is better going to Atlanta. He could play 7 straight nights there and he will sell out every night. He is huge there!! I live in Michigan now and wouldn't mind if he came but I think he would struggle here now, even with this being the city that really helped him early on. Times have changed

Atlanta is an extremely logical choice. I agree. He could do 4 nights.

As for Detroit, I'm not sure the general economy matters, even in a more economically depressed region like Detroit. Some people do stilll have money, and some will stretch themselves to attend. He's supposedly big there. People will travel to see him, so it's not just people from the city of Detroit. I think the real question is if he should so more than one show. I bet he'd get a sellout or near sellout if he did one Detroit show on a Friday or Saturday.

If it's either going to be Detroit or Atlanta, a good thing for P, NPG and the roadcrew would be to take breaks between the dates, which happened with the New Jersy/New York series. More time to upgrade the quality of the show in case there are glitches and kinks on the first show(s) + for everyone a good rest to upload their energy and protect their voices.

I am from the Detroit area and I now live in Chicago (went to 2 shows at the United Center) and Detroit could easily handle P for 3 nights just as Chicago has, economy be damned. I'd go back home for a couple nights to catch the shows.

I would so love this rumor to be true, Detroit could use a boost here. Prince ~ I would be willing to head up the same efforts here in Detroit as you did in Chicago. There is more to Metro Detroit than the city Detroit. There is still a lot of money out in the suburbs and in Oakland County and I strongly believe Detroit could handle 2-3 nights, especially if it is priced right. I live in Oakland County and, yes the middle class has been hit in the suburbs, but I have no doubt shows at The Palace of Joe Louis Arena would sell well.

People will find a way, as Coltrane said. People will stretch to find a way to get to the shows, trust me I have a full time job, mortgage, new car and all my other bills, I am not living the Glamorous Life with a ton of expendable cash but I will be there EVERY night if he comes here. Plus people will travel from neighboring states just like they did for Chicago.

I wish Prince would do a Welcome 2 West Virginia. I'm sure that with jobs in the state becoming more and more scarce that it would be damn near impossible to get it done, but it seems like there's a concert at the Charleston Civic Center or the Big Sandy Superstore Arena every weekend, and it's usually people who have high ticket prices and people STILL attend the shows. The little purple bastards never come through here (he was going to in 1998, but it got cancelled,) and trust me, he WOULD sell out. Maybe not three or four nights in a row, but he WOULD sell out.

Like the previous fan said, there are a whole lot of suburbs around Detroit willing to shell out some serious cash to see Prince. I'm from Ann Arbor and just got back from the Sept 24th show at United in Chi. I saw him in both NYC MSG and London, Ontario last year for Welcome2America. London, ON was a 20 on a scale of 1-10. He played three hours straight and was UNBELIEVABLE. Yes, the Monday United show left something to be desired. But the fact remains that while the sound sucked at United, P himself was on and still has it. There's no denying that there is no other artist in the world that can sing, dance and play all those instruments with the performance genius that he has. Nothing compares 2him! I'm 32 years old, and have hit the last two shows with my 55 year old mother. If he comes to Detroit, I'm gonna take my 12 year old daughter (who is growing to love Prince as well) so we can have 3 generations at Prince!!!

I'm dying for him to come to Detroit. It would be great if he could play the Joe, or another venue besides the Palace, and actually benefit the city of Detroit. I'm not sure that stage set can fit in any of the other venues though.....

There are plenty of burbs and citites near Detroit that have missed out on the Welcome 2 shows. You've got Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland and other Ohio cities that would work too.

It will never happen but I'd love to see him play The Huninton Center in Toledo, Oh. It's a newer 8,000 seat arena that's brought a lot of bigger acts in the last 3 years. Dream on!

I'm in between Detroit and Toledo, and would much rather go to Toledo than Detroit. I've been to the Huntington Center. It's nice.
