Just because it's free for the public does not mean Prince wasn't paid!

I estimate 1.5M USD (at 2010 value) plus additional expenses for e.g. televisioon rights or equivalent current values in EUR or commodities.

the link above says that the benefits made from sponsors of the show would go to Unicef.. and also

according to this rumor.. he wants to get it filmed with 3D cameras for a movie that would be presented in theaters.. eek

it appears though that it didnt get green light from the town to this day...

this is all from the source posted above..

Nahhh, I don't think it's true! Sound too good to be true!!!!!!!

And if it's true.. that's pretty epic. I'm in Paris that day.. Because I'm going to Madonna's concert in Stade de France that day so...

pretty weird that both my idols will be in town when I'm in town. lol

Maybe he´s up for more European concerts?

Maybe another NPG Music & Art Festival? cool

A concert in Paris with a 3D proshot that will be released would be absolutely amazing

but i doubt i will go to a free concert with a quadrillion people attending to see nothing

in the end of a so called Greatest hits concert.

I do think that P wants this more than the French organisers.

Also there are certain cultural guidelines to be sidestepped here...

The center fields of the Champ-de-Mars are only about 50 meters wide (including the paths on the side).

Then there's lines of trees.

Behind the trees there's more room but the lines of sight might be spoiled.

Only at the south end there's more room.

I don't know how other concerts on this location were done, so can anyone explain how this could work?

Johnny Halliday played there too. Hopefully Prince will not attract as much spectators as he did....(600.000 till 800.000)....That is one hell of a party..........

Thanks for the pic. It shows that apparently there is room for a stage, etc.

I would love this. I've never been to Paris and have no holiday plans. Does anyone know a nice cheap backpacker hotel nearby?

And then he might come to Holland, who knows, Another North Sea Jazz performance to show Lenny Kravitz how it's done?

Would be great if it really would happen. I have dreamt about his "Joy in repetition" at NSJ.

If only he would ever be as good as that saturday. OMG.

Note to self: I'm not getting myself excited about this!!!

It's not even certain it will happen. And when it does, I don't have the money to travel to Paris, book a hotel and have myself a little holiday.

I DO WANT IT!!!

Note to self: Read my own notes repeatedly out loud to myself. I'm not getting excited over gossip.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I am super envious of anyone who lives in or near Paris and is able to attend.

It would be a memorable occasion - equivalent to Pink Floyd in Venice many years ago.
