I just wanted to echo the thoughts of a few on here. I attended all three Sydney shows and flew down to the final Melbourne show; IMHO it was the best of the lot. The setlist was incredible, and the versions played, Prince looked like he was having a ball and that created a brilliant atmosphere as well.

After the 15 May concert in Melbourne I had to get tickets from eBay for the 30th. Two nights, totally different. Both amazing.

The variations on some of the classic songs are mind blowing. This isn't some ageing pop artist doing a jazz version of their hits to try and pocket some extra cash. This is musical mastery and stunning rethinking of the original stunning idea. Done with care, beauty and in some cases ethereal ecstasy.

What an experience!

In a couple of hundred years historians may discover that Prince's lyrics were written by Christopher Marlowe.

I haven't felt the same since I've come back from Melbourne on Thursday. It's strange, I can't explain it .. I guess I'm still going through a come-down from the show.

I love how videos from the past were being aired before it started, I kinda took it as an acknowledgement - Mazarati's '100 MPH', Andre Cymone's 'The Dance Electric', Sheena Easton's 'Sugar Walls' & something by T. C. Ellis that I have no idea as I don't pay much attention to him lol

Our seats were in the lower tier at the right hand side of the end of his symbol, fourth row up. I just can't stress how beautiful Prince is, photos & footage do him no justice at all! He was in a great mood, smiling the entire time, flirting with the crowd.

The concert was like a sensual, purple, magical whirlwind .. He had me drunk off his aura & it had nothing to do with the margarita & shiraz's I'd had before.

Highlights for me were definitely 'Crimson & Clover', his new rendition of 'I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man' & 'Something In The Water (Does Not Compute)' alongside the 'Prince & the Band' rap ~ When he said the line about how he still looks the same, the crowd went so wild lol

He teased with 'Darling Nikki', I swear it's been his fave 'party trick' on this tour. He played the intro only to remark something along the lines of "I can't sing that" .. Such a tease mad

My favourite moment of the entire show had to be the very last encore, that rendition of 'Little Red Corvette' kicked me out from under. It was drawn out perfect over about 10 minutes accompanied by sexy ad-libs such as "Can I tell you about your body, baby?" & "I just wanna say two words to the pretty young things, two words to the pretty young fast things" bow

Before the doors opened to our gate, my best friend & I met a lady who had come to the show by herself. Her children had saved up to get her a ticket, she was telling me how she'd been waiting for this moment for 20 years. I mean, she even went to see 'Purple Rain' in the drive in theatres when it was first released! We bought her a tourbook & she started crying, it was really sweet touched

Apart from being my first Prince show, I can also say that that night was the first time I was involved in a mexican wave nod

I don't regret travelling to Australia for the show at all, my life really is complete.

Out of curiousity, did anyone actually get in to the after-party?

After the last encore, we missioned it to the city to find a line that stretched down the main street, round a corner & down another. Ended up going home as there was no point waiting in line behind a couple thousand people for a 700 capacity venue.

I also ended up (typically) losing the shirt I bought at the show somewhere around this time pout

I'm kinda relieved Prince didn't jam as I would of been so guttered lol

i have a few fb friends who got in, you would be surprised about the cue, i left at 2:30 and there was only like half of the queue on swanston street was left, so maybe 800 people still in the cue. most people had left by then, because rumor had it the venue was already full, but it wasn't, since we were there when they let people in and only few got in before 2am.

I have finally recovered/come down from the purple high enough to post here about wednesday night

After spending my day sad because my bf who was working on the crew couldn't get me a ticket I decided to head to Rod Laver to meet up with org people and hang outside and listen to the show and hope for an aftershow.

at 6pm i got a msg telling me there was a guest pass for me which was awesome.

The show was amazing, i was seated behind the band in the lower D section which was awesome.
about 10 mins after getting inside i checked the org and found out about the aftershow and then spend the next 2 hrs txting Maurice(tabu2470) to figure out when we were going to bail and head to Hifi for the aftershow

Got there just after 10pm to find an already substantial queue but we were confident we'd get in but due to the complete incompetence of the hi fi bar staff the queue got bigger ahead of us due to people pushing into the queue and staff/security did nothing to prevent this.

After 3-4 hours in the queue i finally got in but not before getting crushed in the horde as Prince arrived.

After joking about attempting to gain entry with my guest pass while i was in the queue i decided to try my luck getting into the VIP room upstairs where Prince & Co were hanging...and it worked!

Spent a decent amount of time dancing near Prince who was in his own little roped off section.

At one point he got up to go downstairs and i couldn't contain myself any further and stroked his arm all the way down as he left the roped off area, he didn't even pull away from me!

That's when all the shit went down in the downstairs area and he raced back upstairs and out the door, not even his band/entourage knew what was going on. Saw someone tell Andy McKee that they were outta there so he skulled his drink and ran after them

So with Prince gone i had a massive fangirl moment and decided to sit in the area he had been sitting in (I sat in his ass groove!) and promptly bagged some of the stuff that was at his table (water bottle he was drinking from, a wine glass he *may* have been drinking from and a bottle of brandy)

All in all it was a great night with a few not so great moments while in the queue but once inside it was all forgotten and i got to meet some really lovely people at the org meetup before the show and also in the HiFi queue

I'd love to catch up with people from that night again, i only hope they were all Org People cause my phone died while i was in the queue (like most peoples) so i was unable to grab anyones details sad

I got in, though only in the downstairs plebs' area.

In retrospect those were some pretty good tunes and it would have been better to just enjoy the party -- but it was hard to think about anything other than "Prince might play".

Still trying to process my amazing trip (first Prince gig, first time in Melbourne, etc) before I can post anything about it, really.

I was in the same boat but stayed as I had nowhere to go until a 7 am flight ba k to auckland. I waited outside all night and the band Inc prince walked right past me at 4.30 to get back into their cars. We didn't miss much anyway.

I'm so glad you had such a great time and yes the post concert blues are a rea

It was a great night - the crowd was certainly the most engaged - and that takes nothing away from the previous 2 Melbourne concerts that I saw.

The set list was brilliant - SITW memorable (first time played I think on this tour at an arena).

Cant believe he has been and gone.
