Hi everyone smile

So does anyone know if prince had any 'after show' shows When he visited Australia last and if so do you know where he had them?

My advice: avoid the parties. You spend your time better resting.

OTOH, if he performs, i.e. an aftershow, then go for it. The gamble might be worthwhile.

in 2003,it was:
Melbourne - Afterparty Prince of Wales Hotel, was a cool get2gether,but the DJ hardly played any Prince, also at the 1st Basement afterparty, that was fun & P & the band showed up,i think Prince had the DJ play some track & then left not long after.
Melbourne Oct 22nd,aftershow @ The Metro ......they hit the stage approx 2am & played for an hour
(revised version of Peach,Brickhouse,No Diggity,& some other songs but thats what i really remember.
At the time the afterParties were cool, cuz i was still in the presence of Renato,Prince,Johnny B,Chance Howard,i think Greg Boyer was there too.Having said that,it wasnt a huge deal, just cool 2 hang with Prince fans & i met a few cool (sexy) people at the parties.
The AfterSHOWS are what u want.
I wonder what the arrangement is these days with Aftershow tickets, are they free with your Main Show ticket? or do we have to pay the $80 that was charged to get in to the 03 Afters if you don't have a ticket?
wow,that was along post

Well...
We paid stuff like 100 euro's in Brussels.

Or more like 60-something in Kopenhagen.

Or more like 40 for a non-guaranteed P-performance (NPG jam).

I believe the Melkweg was also like 100 euro's?

That was in 20ten and 2011.

Thanks for the help guys smile
Back in 03 how did you know there was to be an after show? Was it officially stated or did you find out through a connection. Since he's coming back to oz this year I'm gonna see all his shows and I would kill to attend an after show

From what I can recall it was announced on the radio. It was a secret show but everyone knew about it.
I didnt get in on the Basement gig but it sounded very jazzy laid back from outside. Where as the Metro gig was more your typical after show.
IF there is one this time around I'm sure you'd hear about it at the show. Just ask anyone in the front row and they'll tell you.

Or just log on to the Org.

It was rumored, but they actually announced it either before or after the main show.
NPGMC members just walked straight in.
I remember going to the Metro show with a blonde girl called April.
She had her car parked near the Arena,so we drove straight there, maybe took us a couple minutes, she was flooring it!

If you bought your concert tickets through the npgmc then you got a wristband for the soundcheck and free access to the aftershow parties. I'm pretty sure people who hadn't bought tix through the npgmc were able to get into the after party for a door charge of $75 or something like that. We were totally spoiled. The most I'll hope for is some variety in the setlist and not too many covers neutral . An aftershow will be a bonus.

Brisbane 2003 was at the Indie Temple - I didn't pay the NPGMC prices but still got in at the door. Indie Temple has since shut down but was piggin awesome, the stages were ankle height!!!

In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

I went to all the '03 shows and after parties/shows. 'Twas awesome biggrin Although the "DJ" sets were a bit of a yawn.

From memory, entry was $80 and the venue was announced after the concert for those that hung around, although they did get up online too. I went straight to the venues after the concert as soon as we found out where they were and didn't have any trouble getting in. There was a lot of waiting though. razz One queue for NPGMC and one for regular folk. I was one of the regular folk and still got in, no problem.

The Basement was my highlight (Purple Rain anyone?) but does anyone else remember the dude collapsing onto the floor at the Indie Temple? Crazy!
