in 2003 i helped organise the ORG fan get2gethers in melbourne & sydney.Would love to do that in Melboing (lol!) again,

PRINCE WILL BE TOURING AUSTRALIA SOMETIME MID-YEAR. AFP

SUPERSTAR Prince is set to announce an Australian tour.

Several promoters, including the Big Day Out, had courted the Purple Rainsinger for a run of Australian dates.

Prince had suggested dates as early as May, but promoters were spooked by the fact Lady Gaga is touring at that time. Gaga's shows include five nights at Rod Laver Arena.

Prince will announce the Australian tour this week.

A promoter familiar with the deal said Prince wanted to do many dates in each city - a tough ask in a busy tour climate.

At Prince's US tour last year, some tickets were priced at a low $25.

A promoter said ticket prices for his Australian shows would be in line with current tours.

US reviews said Prince's latest show was a greatest-hits romp that includedKiss, Take Me With U, Raspberry Beret, U Got the Look, Let's Go Crazy and1999.

"And he's still weird," MTV reported.

"He played the first half of the show wearing a shirt with his own face on it."
