my dallas ticket experience...

...okay...equal time....
i just got home from work at 8:30 a.m....logged onto npgmc with some aprehension about getting my dallas ticket thru them becos of a couple stories on this site...
i am happy to report it took all of 30 seconds and there was my confirmation number and i already received my confirmation email...it's like 8:35 or something...
no traffic on the site, no confusion, no uncomfortable pauses after checking out, no hidden fees...
so i just thought i'd share a positive experience for a change...
that said--who's goin to the dallas show?

Im there.....I had about the same experience ordering. I'd be surprised if there were 200 of us here in Dallas...maybe 50-100 members. I look forward to meeting most of ya'll.

I too had no problems getting passes for the Dallas concert. Nor, did I have any problems getting passes for the Houston concert.
(I have a sister in each city. In our family, they were the original Prince fams and I was the casual listner; but, they have fallin' off over the years. Now, that our rolls are reversed, I'm just trying to bring them back into the fold...lol)
It was one SMOOTH, QUICK and EFFICIENT process. Hats off to the NPGMC!!! Heads up to all you cookie watchers, though. Be sure to enable in-session cookies BEFORE you get into npgmusicclub.com for passes. Otherwise, at the step just before you get the confirmation number, it will tell you to enable in-session cookies, then, start the pass purchase process all over again. Some people won't have the cookie issue; I did because I have my Internet Explorer set up to prompt me for action anytime a website tries to drop a cookie on my computer. So, it was not NPGMC's fault I got hung up at that spot. I'm just saying to those of you who do as I do where cookies are concerned, you'll have to enable them before you can get your confirmation number. All said, big ups to NPGMC for their continued efforts to make this a refreshing experience.

I'm so sad that I can't go to any of the Texas concerts but y'all have fun for the broke college student here!!!(who not only doesn't have the money for tix,but also doesn't have an extra $100 to spend on a NPGMC membership...) cry

Man! Are they even advertising for this concert? As of Tuesday afternoon, I went to ticketmaster just for kicks and was able to pull up tickets (all center) as close as row D for a single ticket, row M (for 2tix) and row Q (for 4 tix). Im starting to wonder if he will even sell out? I wouldn't be surprised to see all NPGMC members on the first 2 rows only.

I wonder if Dallas is gonna get into partyin on a Tuesday?

I'm going, defiantly. spent way too much on tickets.. does anyone know where the aftershow will be, or if one's even planned? I know last time he came, there was supposed to be an aftershow at the Gypsy Tea Room.. there were about 50 people outside waiting to get inside until it was canceled at the last minute because Prince couldn't get a permit to play past 2 am or some shit..

Don't know where the Aftershow is yet. I doubt he'd get permission this time either. That night pissed me off cause it was sooo damn cold outh there and we waited for at least an hour with no word on letting anybody in.

I won tickets to the Dallas show on Mix 102.9 one morning. Did anyone hear that?
I had seen an ad in the Bbserver that was for the prince concert and was talking to one of my friend about how i wished i could go, and the morning they were giving away the tickets i got online to read journals and my friend had posted to tell me that they were giving away tickets on 102.9 so i figured that i would turn it on while i was getting ready for school and listen.
They had this guy dressed up as Shroeder from charlie brown and people had to call in and ask him yes or no question and they had to guess where he was at. So far they had figured out that he was in Frisco at the stonebriar mall, and that he was surrounded by kids and i used to work at a store called Build a Bear there and it's pretty much a store FOR kids, so i was like 'well hell! I should call in a give it a try!' and i was right!! So i won the tickets.
The seats suck, i'm in section PP.. seats U1 and U2.
I am probably going to be the youngest person there, but i cannot wait. I wish i could get into the preshow, and i wish i had better seats, but they were free so i can't complain.

Cool. If anybody thinks of it, let NPGMC know that they did a good job and show your appreciation. I'm sure they get enough crap from us that a little positive encouragement would be welcomed.
