why the misleading title? It grabs peoples attention and annoys them in equal parts. As for your question...hundreds of thousands have seen him in Boston over the years, if u want reports and reviews of some of these past gigs there are some good search engines on the internet, one of them being Google.

Try again, but type in "Prince tour history" this time.
You should see a very nice website with lots of concert info within.
And you should definitley find that he has played Boston many times over the years. |

I saw all 3 Musicology shows in Boston too. I don't have any pics. The shows were great. Musicology I had the luxury of the NPGMC then so I sat front row, third row, front row. Even got a kiss on the cheek from Sonny T.....err..ahh or was it Mike Scott? I should know that right?

Was that the show at The Roxy? I saw him in Boston around that time, but details are escaping me at the moment, lol. It was Jam of the Year or Love for one Another...

nope...no pics. didn't have a good cell phone cam at the time (still don't) and wasn't about to bring in my camera seperately so...nope, no pics.
he was great! I've yet to attend and aftershow! tis my goal. ugh...I had the chance too but the old lady in me backed out. I'll never forgive myself for that. It was last Feb. in NYC...I forget what the aftershow ticket price was but it was like all of the money I had on me, and it was blocks and blocks away and it was raining with no guarantee of getting in and ...well damit, I didn't go.
I have seen him at paisley park though so...I guess that counts. If he comes to Boston again Ruth, we should meet up. "not a fan" yeah...ok |

oh yeah! I think it was the Roxy now that you mention it. I'm surprised he did an aftershow because boston rolls up the streets around 1am. "not a fan" yeah...ok |

I've lived in Boston for over 2 years now. I was sooooo tempted to make the drive up to Montreal for the recent gig but decided against it. Yeah he needs to come back to Boston, or at least get close again like NYC last December! |

It was good and yes it was at The Roxy. It was surreal because I had just come from the show at the Fleet Center, first time seeing Prince ever but there was something empty about that show. I think it was because I had been listening to so many Prince boots of that era and I could almost always predict what song was up next. Anyway, it was a good show but didn't compare to the ONA Tour or even the Musicology tour.
But anyway the after show.....it was so long ago but what I remember about it was his bald headed bodyguard standing on the edge of the stage over-lording over the audience. I remember seeing Prince off stage shadow boxing, I guess trying to warm up before he came on. I don't really recall him doing any of his songs but I remember he busted out a lot of Motown and old soul covers. He stayed on for about 45 mins and then left. I was hoping he'd play his guitar but he never did. What I do recall is how such a small band made so much noise. I've been looking for a boot of the Fleet Center show but no luck yet.
I also saw The Time at The Roxy a few months earlier. |

Must have been 1997. I kind of remember Boston being on some kind of Prince-Def-Con 5 Alert. I strolled along Newbury St and saw this giant tour bus outside this mens clothing shop I had been to a couple of times. So of course, I went in and there was Morris Hayes and possibly Kirk Johnson or Kat. Can't really remember. |

He was supposed to play the Orpheum or Wang Center for Act I in 1993. I waited in line to score good tickets, but the venue's stage was too small for the lighting rig, so the show was moved to the Worcester Memorial Auditorium (not a great venue!) and my seats went back to the 20th row or so. Still good stuff. Every now and then

Yup, that Time show was off the hinges, lol.
One highlight I do remember was that Prince did "Johnny" and I was like a body away from the stage just to the side. When he raised his fist at the 'my Johnny gets hard..harder than the handle on the.." he looked over at my girlfriend and I because we were doing it at the same time. It was her first Prince concert, but she'd seen me do it so many times it was instinctive, lol. Big fun.

I remember that show. Was in school in Boston at the time. I remember the change of venue and going to both shows in Worcester.
I still have my copy of "The Morning Papers" that were handed out to the people in the first several rows.
