In one tour? Sure. In back to back to back to back to back tours for years and years? Um, no. But you wouldn't know about that or have a problem with it since your very first show was not even a year ago, now would you? So, your opinion about this really holds no weight with me right now.

Define years.

If you're talking about:

Welcome 2 America

Welcome 2 Euroupe

Welcome 2 Canada

He's giving the "same routine" (as you call it, which isn't exactly the case) to the different countries who haven't seen it before. Hence the name of the tour "Welcome 2 (insert country/continent here)". Get it?

Even so, you get songs thrown at you like Get Wild, A Million Days, Calhoun/Montral Square which you don't get to hear every night. So calling it the same boring show is just being extreamly ungreatful.

You sit on the org and find something to complain about Prince every day when you probably haven't gone to that show. So look who's talking!

I doubt you've been to a show since before I've seen my first show. Even if you have, I wouldn't see why you would bother to go. I could only imagine. Thousands of people cheering, so excited to see Prince while you'd have your pen and notepad out taking notes being a harsh critic instead of trying to enjoy yourself.

I'd rather have seen my show last december (a very good show, may i add) than not see him at all. What a failed attempt to try to make my opinion seem less valuable just because of the date on which I first seen Prince. How pathetic are you? lol

He's been saying the "I've Got Too Many Hits" line since around 1997. He's been repeating many of the same bits for over ten years. His show is over scripted. I've seen multiple performances from tons of acts in the 500 concerts I've been to over the years. 45 of those shows have been Prince, and by FAR...he repeats himself with the same lame lines and lame jokes.

Even when he changes the set list around with different songs, his lackluster band has to play similar arrangements. If you've heard "Future Soul Song" live, the band is playing "The Beautiful Ones" for the most part. Prince's guitar on that is epic when he wants it to be, which can at least detach the fact that the band is going through the motions.

Exactly. The same damn boring, one-liner shit he's been doing for YEARS.

If you did not attend this show who cares that you are annoyed at the one-liners that you are only reading about in on a website?

If you attended this concert you need to know you do not get to control what the performer will say or play.

The both of you need to grip on reality or get off the purple boat. Prince is not going to consult your or L4OATheOriginal or what to play, say or how to perform.

So what? It's just a line that has nothing to do with the actual performance quality.

Big deal.

Actually, I've heard Future Soul Song in different arrangments, even one without the band and just his guitar. The only simularity you can come up with is the linn drum to The Beautiful Ones as a matter of fact.

To everyone in Canada enjoy the shows and have a great time. cool

To everyone complaining about setlists and what he says(one liners) stop going to every show and getting every boot and you won't have to hear them anymore. bored

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Could it be that you have seen Prince too many times? Seeing someone 45 times is excessive. I tell people I've seen Prince 16 times and they are like eek Is that really Prince's problem? People forget, Prince is a human not a machine. Not to make excuses but from a human perspective it takes a lot to get up on stage in a large arena and rock it out night after night. He's older now, to expect him to change up setlists and do things so different, is just not reasonable. If you find that you are bored with him and his band, then stop following him. You are just going to be an unsatisfied fan. I'm not saying that you should not state your opinion because you have a right to, but I just think that what people want sometime is unreasonable. My first Prince concert was in Miami in 2006. It was mind blowing, you probably would have thought it sucked. Everyone has their personal hangups but I find is that the things people ask others to do are things they probably can't do themselves. IMO Prince has nothing to prove anymore, especially after 30 years, and the 15-20 habitual complainers on this site will not change anything, because outside of the Org, the 10-20,000 people who show up at his concerts don't care. they just want to party, and as you can see and what I experience myself, people leave hyped with all smiles. cool

Yeah he has! I remember him saying he went to all the Carolina W2A shows and spent heavy on the seats. Then he made posts similar to these ad naseum. If he went to only 1 show maybe he'd have enjoyed it (that's a big MAYBE) but it wouldn't have been the traumatic experience he made it out to be.

Hell no have I been to one of his shows in a long time! His shows are no longer exciting to me, so why would I waste my money or time going to one?! But, I've heard a few of the these shows that people on here just fuckin' gush about, and it's the ol' stuff he's been doing for years now. So, I have enough info to give a qualified opinion on what the hell he's doing now.

And yes, your opinion is less valuable to me on his live shit because you JUST had your live Prince cherry popped. You have no real perspective of how great his shows really WERE and where he got this vaunted reputation of being an out-of-this-world live performer. You're like a kid telling a 50 year old the ways and ups and downs of life. rolleyes You've only been to a show head by a prudish, Vegas band leader, not the dynamic, charismatic, funky man and his funky band that he used have in his shows.

And stop taking things I say and basically just saying, "Same to you!" Very uncreative and just continues to hammer home the fact that I have good reason to not take your comments seriously AT ALL. disbelief

falloff I KNEW IT!

You are such a hypocrite. You're trying to talk down on what I know and what I don't know because I've seen Prince's newer live performances yet you haven't even been to ANY OF THOSE!

All you did was look at bootlegs of those shows? Pfft, okay. lol Because that totally counts for something.

If anything, I know more than you for being at the show while you sat home and jerked off to the lovesexy tour footage. So go away.

Why the fuck would I waste my money and time on going to a concert where he's been doing the same ol' shit for years now?? Me going would be hypocritical, not the other way around, genius. His shows now are basically the same damn thing he's been doing in 2004 for the Musicology Tour (which is also the the same thing he did for London in 2007). So, essentially, I've been to the same show as you (except this time the band is even WEAKER and he's now got a co-lead singer in Shelby)....only 6 years earlier. I've spent my time at his concerts (from the 80s all the way up until Musicology); you haven't. So, think before you label someone a hypocrite.

So, grow up first, and then maybe you'll begin to understand my arguments, which you amusingly find "incoherent".

This place already has way too many just like him, which's why it's in such the rut that it is. There's a reason why so many people say the Org was so much better back in the day.

okay i've seen the welcome 2 america tour, i've seen the musicology tour and have all 21 nights he did in london in bootleg and YES he said some of the same things on those tours and he does not "i've got 2 many hits" "i can't play that song" ..and even further back he started saying these things during the jam of the year tour in 97 so there is history of these antics. DEAL WITH IT

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Prince's guitar on that is epic when he wants it to be, which can at least detach the fact that the band is going through the motions.

the arrangement of the beautiful ones is the same arrangement from the Act II tour which was 93. tho u point out future soul song, it's hard 2 say if the arrangements are the same since ..HE HARDLY PLAYS NEW SHIT

Prince is not going to consult your or L4OATheOriginal or what to play, say or how to perform.

and he is gonna consult u? no ur just a yes person too and we know it. he doesn't wanna hear from alex, myself and true music fans that will challenge him. so u can apply for employment with his organization and say bahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaa . i've seen prince live on this tour ..HAVE YOU? i don't need 2 be at every show 2 know it's the same shit i've heard for years

This site desperately needs more people like U. Truth. Thanks. ~G

This place already has way too many just like him, which's why it's in such the rut that it is. There's a reason why so many people say the Org was so much better back in the day.

long live the days of the PPML headbang

Ah, yes. The Glory Days of the org where the population of vulgar internet users skyrocketed as the people skip merrily and treat people with different opinion like shit on their free daily basis, talk as much crap as they wish, and complain upon whichever they like as much as they like.

Sounds like sweet SWEET heaven!

You said the same thing as the other person so you could scroll up and find where I made my point.

How reminiscent of the Glory Days of the org, before it went in a rut. cry
