Finally I didn't bring it !! The security were really strict about it, they said if we see any of you taking pics we will warn you, but if we warn you more than 3 x, you're out!! The security guards were crawling everywhere to see if people we using cell or cams, they even checked them with the touchlights confused That's how it was in Montreal!

LOOK AT THE PICTURE

You can then see why P wants a camera ban. How many people are dancing/getting down?

People complain that P plays short sets etc etc, but we all know (OK us older fans know) that the best and sometime the longest P gigs are when there is a vibe or a conection with the crowd.

Is there a conection with the crowd in that picture or are they all just looking at the lens of their camera/phone taking pictures/videos?

I know I'm old but these days your wern't at a gig unless you have a video to prove it. I don't have any pics or vids from Lovesexy 86 (though it would have taken two of us to carry the camera and enough batteries back then!) and that's still the best memories I have of a P tour.

Go to the gigs and prey for a tour DVD sometime

Also note that is the back of the stage and I suspect the least patrolled

Lez, i was just gonna mention that too. It was shameful what I witness for myself here in TO at both gigs. The crowd doing literally fuck all, hardly moving or clapping, never mind hollering. I did think that on Saturday there was more of a connection and that the crowd sang along more so than on Friday. So many empty seats both nights, it was sad. It's no wonder the last time P perform in Toronto was back in 2004 with one of the shows being sold out mainly because it was advertised as ''Prince doing his hits for the last time."

I wouldn't be back in a hurry either.

Frankly, I can't wait until he starts doing gigs at Casino Rama and ticket sales are $60 bucks.

Maybe part of the reason that some people aren't going is because of how strict everything is and to spend that much money on top of that and you can't take a picture? Maybe that concert was a 1st for them so they went overboard on the pictures, who wouldn't it's PRINCE! But I do agree that some people go too crazy w/ the pictures confused I think they should allow pictures and then just warn the people who go way too nutso with the camera.

Security in London ON 2nite ejected some guests taking pix with iphones. And at Toronto's 2nd nite Afterjam, Prince refused 2 perform on-stage because too many people had their cameras and iphones out.

i was lucky at the london gig...i had read here they were using a 3 strikes and you're out policy for photos at the other canadian shows...

well, i asked the security guy before the gig and he said it had come down from the top, from prince's people: no photos! no warnings! the dude told me that if they caught you that was it, you were out. i saw them grab a girl a few over from me and she was only taking a pic of herself and her friend. her camera wasn't even pointed towards the stage. they made her delete the pics sad

so, anyone going to the rest of the canada dates, be warned...they are taking the no photos policy very strongly!

And your focus was where it had to be! nod

I'm convinced Prince has more fun seeing people getting down to his music than spend hours holding a camera to later enjoy movies about something they finally didn't really experienced.

Out of respect for Prince, I decided to never bring my camera to his shows. After all, I'm pretty sure the reason he recognised me in Ottawa was not because I was holding a camera, but because I was having the time of my life dancing to his music at his shows. wink

Yeah totally agree on what you said, and it's ugly to see most spectators holding their cameras, I mean Prince is performing, enjoy his live performance lol ! And he did recognise you that's AWESOME! excited Not to bring cams to his concert is the best move anyone can make. The memories I brought with me finally is the ticket to his concert, symbol necklace and all the fun I had smile I will never forget that night!

i agree with that for sure!!

he was all smiles when he came around to the section i was in as people were dancing their asses off. i don't think there was one person near me who wasn't sweating by the end of the show...he actually smiled and made eye contact with me once or twice as well as a few others who were really letting it fly on the dancefloor!

it really was something to behold!!

While I agree, as one of those "idiots who dared bring AND use a camera" I'd like to say.... I'd waited almost 30 years to be that close to Prince. I also took both my children (6 & 8) & we traveled from NY, I wanted 2 pics. One of Prince & one of my kids. I had spent a $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on 4 table seats. When I tried to take a pic (of my kids) the security went NUTS. Prince hadn't started playing at this point. I totally agree, it's dis-respectful to spend the evening watching through a lens BUT the security wanted us SITTING down, so they could see who was taking the pics, thats just a joke. I got pissed & asked for the guys name. Stating that if i was kicked out, for taking a pic of my own children, prior to the show starting. I'd need his name to explain to my CC company why I was canx the charges. He was much nicer to us then (previously cursed in front of my kids).

I saw him last year in NY & security were not so tight, they'd let you take a couple then say 'thats enough'. I understand but they need to keep it respectful too.

Finally, the fault does all lay with Prince, if he wasn't so bloody HOT, no-one would want a pic.

I really don't know why he's being such an arse about it. Yes it must be a little disconcerting having hundreds of cameras pointing at you, but people are spending their hard earned money on his shows and all they want is their own little memento of the special occasion.

It's quite nasty really especially if yore taking pics of your own children before hand....

Shame on you Prince....[img:$uid]http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc404/funkmunki/Smileys-2.gif[/img:$uid]
