Prince Cancels Canadian Show - Saskatoon Just seen this on Yahoo -
Funk icon Prince has cancelled an upcoming Canadian concert due to scheduling conflicts. The Purple Rain hitmaker was due to play at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon on 11 December as part of his Welcome 2 Canada tour, but Prince has called off the show to attend to other commitments. Ticketholders have been offered full refunds. Music is my religion.

Here is a great article about the show's cancellation. It pretty much sums up my anger and frustration over this. Its starting to feel like a personal insult!!! Now i can't say i know much about how the music business work, or if Prince even knew about the concert. Maybe his promoters have a rule that is so many tickets are sold the show much be cancelled. I dont know. All i know is its horribly unproffessional and someone should apologize!!!! I'm still so heartbroken. It was probably going to be my only chance to ever see him.

I really do feel it's a self fulfilling prophecy with Prince now. After getting hopes shot down two times people are gun shy!
I was reading from The Vault about other W2A shows and there was one where every upper level ticket was upgraded. He didn't cancel that one. But in this case it's not just Saskatoon that gets the rug pulled out from under them. People from all over had booked flights and vacation time and had laid out good money for tickets. EAGERLY anticipating Prince rocking Saskatoon's socks off.
You have dedicated fans here, Prince. Pulling the plug after 10 days was not fair. How are we EVER supposed to trust that you will show up here after cancelling three times? | |

Thanks for kind reply nipples. Its true, who is going to buy tickets next time after this hapening 3 times already! I'll be honest, of course I would buy one....but not many will. Helsink Finland got 6 shows cancelled before he finally went thete this year..

Yup, and trust me i am not shy about travelling to other cities to see bands i absolutely love! I usually have to go to vancouver though which sets me back at least $500 for plane, hotel, food, cabs and the concert. I did that for Gorillaz becaue i knew there would be absolutely no chance of them ever doing a tour again, and i'm glad i went. For Prince i just can't afford it this time around. Plus i can't get days off work. What's another 10 year wait, right? lol
And 6 cancellations!? Thats insane. Don't artists lose quite a bit of money cancelling out of a contract with a venue? Sheesh! Not that Prince can't afford it, but still. | |
