I used to live in Ottawa until this January. First off let me just say that unfortunately, the acoustics at Scotiabank Place are terrible.
What kind of tips are you looking for?

It'll also be my first time visiting Ottawa, since I'll probably spend Sunday there too after the show.
Tried to look at official toursistic site but that city looks boring as hell... Anything interesting to visit there?
Sorry to hear that the acoustic isn't great at Scotiabank arena... will have fun there anyway, I'm not worried too much Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

It's the nation's capital and has endless things to do.
I guess it all depends on what kind of fun and "interesting" things you're looking to do...

I'm usually interested in the history of a city, beautiful buildings, walking in beautiful and charming streets...stuff like that, not into pubs or stuff like that.
All I found on the official touristic site was about Rideau Hall, the rest didn't seem as interesting, so if you have any clue where I could go ''Around Ottawa in a day'' please give me a hint Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

Obviously there is the parliment buildings to go see. But nearby you also have The National Art Gallery, The Museum of Nature, Museum of Civlization, the Rideau Canal, the Byward Market, The Mint, The War Museum, The Aviation Museum, walking tours - including the Ottawa Jail Hostel and Haunted Walk, shows at the NAC, Museum of Science and Tech, The Glebe, Little Italy, Chinatown, The Experimental Farm, Rideau Falls, Hog's Back Falls, Rideau Carleton Raceway and Casino, Casino Du Lac Leamy....
And much more but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Thanks a lot, you're better than their website! I should be able to fill my day with that!
I'll also be at the show in Halifax, read you'd be there too, but I won't have time to visit since with the bus from Quebec I'll arrive 1,5 hour before the show!
Thanks again Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

No prob!
A lot of those attractions are in and around the Parliament Buildings. I would definitely start in the Byward Market and go from there. The Chateau Laurier is also beautiful to check out...if you're not staying there already.
Halifax has a lot to do as well, but I don't think I will be there for long as well. Just in and out this time!

Wow that's beautiful! I'll see that for sure!
There's no way I'm staying there though! Was supposed to go get a bed in the youth hostel (old jail) which would have been cool, but I found a friend that lives not far from Ottawa so I'll take a couch need to save as much as possible after buying all those expensive tickets!!! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

I live in Ottawa (unfortunately I'm out of the country for the Prince show - argh!)...
I would suggest seeing the following if you have time: 1) Parliament Buildings 2) Byward Market (just to walk around) 3) Chateau Laurier (just to walk around) 4) Museum of Civilization (across the river in Gatineau - great museum) 5) War Museum (this one is a drive, but great museum) 6) Casino de Hull (in Gatineau, if you're there one evening).
It's a beautiful city, just don't expect much of a nightlife!

Oh, and just be aware that Scotiabank Place is nowhere near downtown - it's about a 30 minute drive west (45-60 minutes in rush hour traffic). Prepare for a lovely taxi bill if you don't take the bus!

You got me worried here... I'll arrive by bus from Montreal that day and I have to check the way to get from the bus terminus to the scotiabank place...

There is a pretty good bus system there and they run on a transitway for quick shuttles to most destinations. Yes, it's a distance away from downtown...but you'll get there by bus no problem. Just time accordingly.

I also just want to add the nightlife in the city looks shitty on the surface, but there is an underground scene that is fun...you just need to know where to go and when....but you did mention that you were not that interested in that kind of thing.
